St. Mary of Czestochowa underwent reconstruction several years ago after a tornado stripped off its roof. Now, its organ is in need of an upgrade. You can assist this effort and even get something in return – a concert by the Astralis Chamber Ensemble. Mark your calendars for 7pm Friday, Sept. 18, at Mount St. Peter, where musicians playing piano, flute and violin will present the works of Moszkowski, and female composers Mel Bonis and Cecile Chaminade. Sponsored by Cardaro Funeral Home, New Kensington. A free-will offering benefits St. Mary of Czestochowa organ repair/upgrade.

Those who sing pray twice! Log double the prayer time by joining the choir. All three New Kensington Catholic Community church choirs begin rehearsals soon.
St. Mary of Czestochowa choir rehearsals begin tomorrow, Wednesday, Sept. 9, from 7pm to 8:30pm. Current and new members are encouraged to come lift up your voices. Students in seventh grade and up are also welcome to join. Please contact George with questions by emailing [email protected]
Mount St. Peter choir practice begins this Thursday, Sept. 10, from 6:30pm to 8pm. All are welcome – experienced singers or not. Bring a spouse, partner, family member, friend, and give choir a try. MSP choir sings at 10:30am Sunday Mass and at special liturgies throughout the year. Please contact Will with questions by emailing [email protected]
St. Joseph will hold a meet-and-greet for choir members and potential choir members at 6:30pm Wednesday, Sept. 23, with a gathering at the church. Many thanks to everyone who donated peanut butter for our neighbors in need at Mount St. Peter's food pantry earlier this summer. We had great participation and with the excess we were able to donate about 40 jars to the food pantry at Valley High School so students, in particular football team members, will benefit from the protein. Many thanks, and please continue to drop off cereal this month at any of the four local Catholic churches. Sharing our blessings!

Moms and their Tots are welcome to join an off-site community group for mothers and their youngsters to share time together with others. The group meets twice a month on Wednesdays. Upcoming sessions are Sept. 9 from 9:30am-11am; Sept. 30 from 5:30pm-7pm; Oct. 7 from 9:30am-11am; Oct. 21 from 5:30pm-7pm; Nov. 4 from 9:30am-11am; and Nov. 18 from 5:30pm-7pm. Faith Formation classes for youngsters begin next week! Parents are encouraged to register their children to help our young disciples grow in their relationship with Jesus by facilitating encounters with the Lord through Scripture, the sacraments, prayer, and community.

Fall is proof that change is beautiful! Make a change in your life by volunteering with Mailbox Ministry, 2:30pm Monday, Sept. 14, in Marble Hall at Mount St. Peter. The change comes when a smile flows across a recipient's face as they open the greeting card made by volunteers. And a change can come in you when you help other people feel good. Wish our Blessed Mother a happy birthday by attending Mass tomorrow, Tuesday, Sept. 8, for the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The date marks nine months after the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of Mary Dec. 8. Mass times are 8:30am at Mount St. Peter and 12:30pm at St. Joseph. See you soon!
