Happy Anniversary in Heaven to James. Little did I know as a child of 10 years old when I felt the call of Ministry on my life that I would end up traveling the world with James Burkett. As a teenager of 15 years of age I started attending the church where the late James Burkett was the pastor. I thought he was very charming, handsome and a great preacher but not once did I think that someday I would be his wife. He had already been to college and I was a sophomore in high school. As time progressed I knew there was an attraction growing between us. My senior year in high school James had been invited to preach a city wide "New Years" youth convention in New Orleans, La. He picked me up from school at 10 am on December 20th as we were getting out early for Christmas Vacation. He said to me, I want to take you to New Orleans with me but the only way that will happen is if we can get married before the Convention begins. He said, "Let's go talk to your Mother and see if she will agree to sign the paperwork so we can get our license and get married." Long story short, Mother agreed and signed the papers at the Court House. We were married and the rest is history. Never once did I ever imagine a Country girl would ever travel the world with a traveling Evangelist. Our travels took us many places and I am writing a book, "I Wouldn't Take Nothing For My Journey Now". I have posted a few pictures of our journey along the way. James thanks for the memories. Until then I will continue in MInistry the journey we began years ago. I've enjoyed the ride. I sure have missed you but the journey continues. By the way the church where we met is "The Hustburg Assembly of God."
