Today, our lay leader Diann led the congregation in an exploration around how norms around dealing with trash have changed over the last few generations, and challenged us to add one more thing to our routine that will reduce our negative impacts on the Earth. She ended the service with this video that is particularly profound...Can we shift our view of the Earth from vulnerable and needing our protection to one of reverence for this planet which provides everything we need and our only emotion is gratefulness? We all suffer when treat the Earth like a landfill. It does not care whether we are here or not. Nature will survive long after we are long gone.
