Today we remember and give thanks for Fr. John Harvey’s ordination 82 years ago, on June 3, 1944. 🙏🏼😇

We also give thanks for Ugandan martyrs Saints Charles Lwanga and Companions, whose feast day is today. These brave martyrs have come to be honoured as patron saints of the Courage Apostolate, founded by Fr. Harvey. ✝

St. Francis de Sales reminds us in his Treatise on the Love of God (1616) that through prayer, the intimate “heart to heart” communication between the individual person and God is fostered. The closest of friends or lovers know each other – their thoughts, their (re)actions; likewise, humanity and God can be just as close through prayer.
