June’s Mission Support goes to Home Free, a safe haven for women and their children who have needed to flee their homes due to domestic violence. Located in Plymouth since the 1980s, Home Free provides multiple services to domestic abuse survivors including emergency shelters, safety planning, coordination with law enforcement and the criminal justice system, advocacy and services for immigrant and refugee families, and access to social service systems in 11 cities and municipalities in northwest Hennepin County. All services are free of charge. Home Free provides a collaborative community and safe space where people are empowered to heal and transform their lives. Please consider a donation to this wonderful local organization.

Register your child(ren) for Vacation Bible School this summer!

We are partnering with several other Wildfire churches to offer Vacation Bible School this summer, August 10-13! Here are the details:

All Wildfire congregations are invited to this year’s shared Vacation Bible School, hosted at Faith Lilac Way. We’ll be using RENEW: The Green VBS, a Sparkhouse curriculum centered on the Parable of the Sower and caring for God’s creation.
Ages: 3 years to 6th grade
Dates: Monday–Thursday, August 10–13
Times: Family meal at 5:15pm; rotations 6:00–7:10pm; closing 7:10–7:30pm
Wednesday: Adjusted schedule with Worship & Dessert at 7:00pm
A family meal is provided each evening for children and volunteers. New this year: A parent/adult Bible Study/Gathering option, possibly at Wicked Wort. We are still seeking adult volunteers to help make VBS possible! Location: Faith Lilac Way Lutheran Church.

The Wildfire Shindig is Coming Soon! Thursday, June 11th 5:30-7:30 pm

An evening of food, music, and fun will again take place at House of Hope Lutheran to help raise funds toward Holy Nativity’s involvement with Every Meal. The event will feature live music and will include raffles and games. The dinner will be centered around pulled pork and turkey on a bun with a variety of condiments and summer sides. Shindig Tickets are $20 and Raffle Tickets are $10. Tickets will be sold in the narthex today— see Nancy Van Heel for further information, questions and ticket/raffle purchases! Every Meal is a supplemental food program designed for elementary aged students in our school district who are experiencing food scarcity.
