Ranck’s UMC was privileged to host the celebration to honor and commission the Certified Lay Minister class for this year from across Eastern PA.
Rev. Freymoyer brought the message to the sizable group of family and friends to honor six people who committed to and completed a year plus of training and study to prepare for larger roles in the ranks of laity. Two are being assigned to churches, including Ranck’s own Lisa Kurtz, pictured with Pastor Kris.
Please join us in congratulating these faithful servants as they move forward with God’s calling and join us in prayer for their future ministry to the region and the world!

The new vision statement for the United Methodist denomination has been released. It is rooted in scripture. Check out some specifics below, as shared in the linked article.
---------------
Love boldly - inspired by Matthew 22:37-39 and John 13:34-35, means: United Methodists passionately love God and, like Jesus, embrace and include people of every age, nation, race, gender and walk of life.
Serve joyfully - inspired by Psalm 100:1, Nehemiah 8:10, John 13:14-15 and 1 Peter 4:10, means: With a Christ-like heart, journey alongside the most vulnerable, offering care and compassion with joy.
Lead courageously - inspired by Joshua 1:9 and Ephesians 6:10, means: Follow Jesus’ example by resisting and dismantling all systems of evil, injustice and oppression, striving for peace, justice and reconciliation.

United Methodist bishops — in collaboration with the Connectional Table — have adopted a vision that says United Methodists “love boldly, serve joyfully, and lead courageously.”

Lent has begun and it can be such a difficult time - a time of reflection and stepping back from comfort to be all in with God and recognizing our mortality even as those loved beyond measure. But it is all about what and who we do it for even as we have doubts and questions. When we turn to God, even with struggle, because we trust God, we are doing what is needed to continue this walk and have our pathway lit bright.

God is providing hope on this Ash Wednesday, and the rainbow that appeared this evening is a bright example . Thank you Jesus for your grace and love.

Join us tonight for our Ash Wednesday service at 7pm, if you are able.
