Church family--don't forget our fish and shrimp fry Saturday, Oct. 17 at 6 pm at the church. The men are cooking the main items and the ladies of the church are asked to bring the sides. Come hungry!

The earliest followers of Jesus understood that spiritual growth doesn't happen by accident. They devoted themselves to practices that kept them close to God and connected to one another.

John Wesley described these practices—Scripture, prayer, worship, Holy Communion, and Christian fellowship—as the means of grace. These are the ordinary ways God continues to strengthen, encourage, and transform His people.

As our Methodist Roots series concludes, may this verse remind us that the Christian life is one of daily devotion to Christ and continual dependence upon His grace.

May we faithfully seek Him through the means He has graciously provided and encourage others to do the same.

The Christian life was never meant to be lived alone.

One of the defining practices of early Methodism was gathering in small groups where people could pray together, encourage one another, and honestly answer the question, "How is it with your soul?"

James reminds us that healing and spiritual growth often happen in the context of authentic Christian community.

Today, thank God for the people who encourage your faith. If you don't yet have that kind of community, pray that God would lead you to relationships where you can grow, serve, and walk faithfully with others.

John Wesley believed Christians grow best in community—through honest conversations, prayer, encouragement, and accountability. His class meetings created places where people could pursue holiness together rather than alone.

Jesus' mission was clear—to bring hope, healing, freedom, and good news to those who needed it most. The early Methodists embraced that same mission. Rather than waiting for people to come through church doors, they went into fields, streets, mines, and villages to proclaim the love of Christ wherever people were. 🌾

As followers of Jesus today, we are called to carry His hope into our neighborhoods, workplaces, schools, and communities. 📣Who in your life needs to hear the good news of Christ this week?

May God give each of us the courage to step beyond our comfort zones and faithfully share His love.
