🔥 The first lesson of the Methodist Roots teaching series drops today!

What does it mean to believe that God has raised you up for a purpose?

In the first lesson of Methodist Roots, we explore the remarkable story of John Wesley's rescue from a childhood house fire and how that event shaped his understanding of God's providence. Wesley would later ask a defining question: "What may we reasonably believe to be God's design in raising up the people called Methodists?"

As you read this week's lesson, you'll be invited to consider not only God's purpose for the Methodist movement, but also His purpose for your own life and your church. ⛪️

đź“– Scripture Sunday

As General Conference draws near, many of us are carrying heavy workloads and feeling the pressure. It's often in these moments that our patience is tested.

Paul reminds us that discipleship is about how we treat one another and holiness is lived out in our relationships. We honor those who labor beside us, extend grace when stress is high, and choose peace over frustration.

This week, thank a colleague, assume the best, and offer grace freely. These simple acts are powerful witnesses to the love of Christ.

Gracious Lord, help us to honor those who serve beside us. Fill us with grace, patience, and peace so that our words and actions reflect Christ in every interaction. Amen. 🙏

Scripture Sunday đź“–

In Matthew, Peter declares that Jesus is the Messiah. But today, let’s look at Jesus’ question more than Peter’s answer.

The world has countless opinions about Jesus — teacher, prophet, moral example, revolutionary. But Jesus makes it personal. He isn’t asking what others think; He asks each of us, 'Who do YOU say that I am?'

True faith is personal and lived out. Our confession of Christ shapes our priorities, decisions, and daily obedience. In the end, our lives reveal our answer even more than our words.

🙏 Heavenly Father, help us to live our lives in a way that shows we are your true disciples. Give us the courage to live, share and show You to the world. Amen.

Scripture Sunday đź“–

Peter doesn't tell us to ignore our worries; he tells us where to take them. Every fear, every burden, every anxious thought can be placed into the hands of a Father who loves us deeply. God's grace meets us where we are, bringing peace to our hearts and strength to continue faithfully in His care.

🙏 Gracious Lord, thank You for Your unfailing love and faithful care. We are grateful that when anxiety weighs heavily on our hearts, remind us to trust in Your goodness and rest in Your presence. Fill us with Your peace, strengthen our faith, and help us walk confidently in the assurance that You are always with us. Amen.

As we celebrate Independence Day in the United States, we give thanks to God for 250 years of His faithfulness, for the blessings of liberty, and we lift our nation and its leaders in prayer.

May we never forget that our greatest freedom is found in Jesus Christ, who calls us to lives of holiness, love, and service. As followers of Christ, may we be faithful witnesses in our homes, our communities, and our nation, reflecting His grace wherever He leads.

Happy Independence Day! 🇺🇸

"For freedom Christ has set us free. Stand firm, therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery." –Galatians 5:1
