During this Holy Week, we lift up the stories of those who sacrificed so much so that we can thrive. In the example of Jesus Christ, our Lord who gave his life so that we can have life and have it more abundantly, scores of individuals gave of their resources to support our church over the course of our 200-year history.

Faithful individuals like Bias Stanley, Ella De Ladson, William Lanson, Rose Fisher and many others are among those named on the antique stained glass windows formerly in our previous edifice at 100 Dixwell Avenue. Through the Preserving Black Churches Program, we hope to restore these windows and lift up their impactful contributions to the life of our church and the beloved community of God.

They serve as a testament to the selfless love of Jesus Christ and those throughout the centuries who have walked devoutly in His way.

To God be the glory!

John 13:34-35
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

The "Maundy" in Maundy Thursday means command and the commandment that Jesus directed towards his disciples was that we love one another as he has loved them.

On Maundy Thursday, April 2 at 6:00 PM, we will gather in the sanctuary at Dixwell Church with our sister churches, Varick Memorial and Bethel AME Church to worship God, pray, and remember that commandment that Jesus made for us before that fateful night of his crucifixion.

Similar to that of the disciples, we will have dinner BEFORE the worship service at 5:00 PM in the lower fellowship hall. We invite you to join us in fellowship and prayer as we remember Jesus and commit to follow in his Way during Holy Week.

We are blessed that Rev. Steve Cousin at Bethel AME Church will bring the preached word.
