Kendall and Eva are planning a spring break food distribution at Haven Place's blessing box (58575 Main Street) and we are in dire need of volunteers to watch over the blessing box as to make sure individuals are not taking too much as this has been a problem in the past and the only way to make sure everyone can be blessed is if we have volunteers manning it. Thank you!

The Haven Place (58575 Main Street New Haven) Blessing Box will be open today Tuesday January 13, 2026 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm ONLY Please take 10 to 15 items only! If you are seen abusing the blessing box by our volunteers watching you will be asked to not utilize the blessing box in the future. If you need to take for a homebound individual you are welcome to do so just let the Blessing Box volunteer know. Our cameras are recording so if you decide to take any items not in the designated hours (3pm to 5pm only) you will be banned from utilizing the blessing box. Thank you.

Thank you to all who have volunteered, donated, and prayed for us! We could not have done Haven Place without you. Many blessings on your 2026! Here is our 2025 Annual Report
God continues to bless Haven Place as we strive to serve families and individuals in New Haven and surrounding communities. John and I are blessed to serve as Chaplains for the New Haven Fire Department and Youth For Christ Coaches at Merritt Academy.
Every month from October to March, we serve a free community dinner where an average of 60 people are being fed and our outdoor Blessing Box is utilized by New Haven residents and beyond. Thank you to our donors that help with our dinners and filling our blessing box. Macomb County Food Bank, Big Day Distribution LLC, The Community of New Haven, Meijer Team Gives, Achatz Handmade Pie Company Strikers Entertainment Center, Kraft, & Haven Place.
A small men's group meets on Tuesday of every week. Free piano lessons are provided on Wednesday’s. Brownies and Daisy’s meet every other Wednesday. Lifeskills Group uses Haven Place on Thursday’s. Life Enrichment Academy meet once a month.
The following classes and free events were held at Haven Place in 2025. Cooking classes, braiding classes, all natural products make and takes, exercise classes. We had eleven families use Haven Place for their special occasions such as birthday parties, showers, reunions, and anniversaries.
Our summer youth camp “Live Victorious” was held June 22 to June 27, 2025 We had 44 teens grades 7 to 12. A special thank you to our camp leaders, guest speakers, musicians, local churches, charities, businesses and donors that made this camp possible. Each student earned 40 community service hours, in which they did projects such as landscaping, painting, light construction, cleaning, put stone in the “Rocket Trail”, helped at RONS Farm. The student’s ran a free children’s sports camp at the Village of New Haven Community Park on Havenridge, participated in the “Community Celebration”. Thank you to our donors and volunteers that made this happen. Steve Grosso & Albert, Living Word Fellowship Church, Marc & Diana Blair, Joe Gerlando Basic Metals, SDA Church in New Haven, Life Enrichment Academy , The Chesterfield Lions Club, Ermin, John Parkinson, The Ladies from Woodside Bible Church, Circle of Friends LWF Church, Joanne & Sue, Eva Lappin, & New Haven Transportation Department.
Pastor Jason Fullum was our guest speaker. With the help of donors, Haven Place gave away sports equipment and outdoor fun items to each child that participated in the sports camp. 93 children attended the free sports camp, they played basketball, volleyball, football, soccer, cheer, music, craft time learning about the armor of God. On Wednesday we fed over 250 people.
We had 18 baptisms during our “Fun Day” at Stoney Creek Metro Park. Lives were changed this week as the youth learned they can have a “Victorious” life by impacting those around them by showing unconditional love, guiding others in wisdom, giving grace and living Victorious!
Our 9th annual Haven Place Family Day Event was held on August 9, 2025 10am to 5pm. This free family event had a petting zoo, water slip n slide, kids sud zone, bungee jump carnival ride, three bands, thirty vendors, and New Haven’s Got Talent Contest. What a joy to see the community come out and enjoy themselves!
October was a fun month for Haven Place. We had our 11th annual “Fall Fundraiser” on October 11, 2025 with about one hundred and fifty in attendance. Our Chili Cook off was a hit, with 21 different Chili’s to taste. Our winners were excited to receive their awards. The kids “Pie Eating Contest” had 16 participants and trophies were given to the winners. We had 87 auction items and our 50/50 raffle was a hit. Because of the generosity of others over $4,000 dollars. Haven Place provided food for the New Haven Firefighters.
The Starfish Group came out to Haven Place and donated their time and monies to upgrade Haven Place. They painted, repaired doors, put up Christmas lights, organized and cleaned. What a blessing!
Faith Baptist School came out and wrapped Christmas gifts and decorated Haven Place. The Merritt Academy Honors club came out to wrap Christmas gifts and prep for the annual Thanksgiving Dinner at New Haven High School.
Our Thanksgiving Dinner at Haven Place provided one hundred and thirteen dinners. Haven Place helped coordinate the Lenox/New Haven Thanksgiving Dinner. Haven Place and it’s donors provided 400 table favors, 7 auction baskets to benefit the New Haven Food Pantry. Achatz Homemade Pie Company donated 78 pies. We had the great privilege to pray over the community.

The New Haven Tree Lighting Ceremony was a beautiful event! Because of so many generous donors we were able to give away over 340 wrapped gifts to the children in New Haven along with stuffed animals and candy for all those who attended.
Haven Place hosted the New Haven Firefighters Christmas party. We had 33 adults, & 18 children attend the dinner. Haven Place was able to give each family a gift. All the firefighters children were given gifts and we had a delicious dinner and dessert for all to enjoy. We had twenty one honor students from New Haven High School and Merritt Academy come and be our waiters and waitresses for the dinner. Our annual indoor snowball fight was the best one yet!
Free Babysitting While Parents Shop had 18 attend on Thursday night and 21 on Friday night. Thank you to our donors who provided wonderful Christmas gifts for the children to shop for free, Millstone Pond residents, New Haven Coney Restaurant, Living Word Fellowship Church, AmVets Post 72, The McCallister Family, Regina Erbe, Terra Samander, & The Blair Family. A special thank you to the Endeavor Middle School 6-8 STEM Robotics team that came out to teach the children how to make a catapult out of sticks and marshmallows. The kids loved it!
Haven Place invited the community to come in and shop for free with the leftover Christmas shop items. We had 23 attend this free event.
Haven Place had the honor of connecting 17 families with 39 children in need of Christmas help with wonderful sponsors who provided Christmas gifts and help.
Our youth winter camp was Dec. 27-29, 2025. We had eighteen youth 6th to 12th grade. Thank you to our donors who made this happen, Christine Zettle Yoga Studio of New Baltimore, Joe Gerlando Basic Metals, Main Street Grill, The Grosso Family, SDA Church and a special thank you to Strikers Entertainment Center’s Tuesday night men’s bowling league that raised funds for our group to bowl, eat pizza and drinks. During our winter camp the students Wrapped 100 Bingo prizes. Went to three local laundromats and paid for people's laundry totalling $300. The teens put on a free community luncheon, they set up the hall, decorated, cooked, made desserts, served, cleaned up, set up and ran the bingo. The teens put together 30 boxes for local foster families containing Laundry detergent, Liquid dish soap, paper towels, toilet paper, books, mac and cheese, granola

bars, chips, candy, cereal and more. We delivered to five families during camp. Our small group study was on the heart of God. He is holy, loving, faithful, just, merciful and faithful.
Thank you to the Anchor Bay High School Honors Society, The Goetz Family and Winter Camp Attendees for donating 48 boxes of cereal for the Foster Families and 42 boxes of cereal to the New Haven Children’s Food Pantry.
Haven Place provided approximately 2,198 community service hours for adults and youth. We served over 438 meals through our community dinners. Provided pizza, gifts and dessert for the Youth For Christ club at Merritt Academy where approximately 30 high schoolers attend and 60 middle schoolers attend.
We have a mighty big task before us but with God and you're help we WILL accomplish mighty things. Matthew 25:40 it says. “And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’

Haven Place is collecting boxes of cereal for Foster families and for the New Haven Children's Food Pantry. Please drop off cereal in a sealed garbage bag by the back door with the awning (not under the overhang drive thru area) by December 21st. We will be putting together care boxes during our youth winter camp. Thank you!
