Chapel on the Green loves making new friends! We had a wonderful first-time group, First Congregational Church of Old Lyme, who brought us homemade chili and cornbread on a frigid Sunday. We all had a great time! If you’re interested in getting involved, please contact Lisa at [email protected].

Nearly 40 people turned out today to watch the PBS-created documentary “Where Then Shall We Go?” about the Amistad Catholic Worker House and Rosette Village, a community of tiny houses and tents providing a place to live for displaced unhoused folks in Amistad’s backyard. We were so lucky to have Mark and Luz Colville, who have been the proprietors of the house since 1994, with us to talk about homelessness, housing, our city’s reluctance to put money toward affordable housing or toward a tiny home neighborhood, and what it’s like to be a part of this special community. So much gratitude.

We brought the rhythms and voices of Chapel on the Green inside for Trinity's 10:30am service this past Sunday! Read or watch Lisa Levy's sermon, a celebration of our COTG community.

God is Good-- all the time. Read or Watch Lisa Levy's Sermon on expanding our spiritual imaginations, and drawing inspiration from the members of our own community who worship at Chapel on the Green, on the occasion of COTG's 17th Anniversary. Whenever the well of your spiritual imagination runs dry, you can join us any (every!) Sunday at Chapel on the Green, at 2pm just outside Trinity.

Today, on Chapel on the Green’s 17th anniversary, we brought the sounds and liturgy of CotG into Trinity’s 10:30am service. CotG’s Gospel Connection—Jenny, Cynthia, Esther, Rachel, and Tiny—were the heart and soul of the service. This is the day the Lord has made—let us rejoice and be glad in it!

This Sunday’s 10:30am service will honor the 17th Anniversary of Chapel on the Green by bringing the voices and sounds of Chapel on the Green indoors for our 10:30am Community Eucharist. We will also honor this anniversary with our usual 2pm service later today.

Join us for a talkback in the Undercroft following the service, hosted by the Reimagining Church Group that encouraged us to celebrate this anniversary in a new way this year.

We also hope you'll take two minutes to read this important update about the disruption of SNAP benefits, how it impacts our parishioners on the Green, and how you can help: https://www.trinitynewhaven.org/news/cotg-anniversary-snap

The Gospel Connection brought joyful music to Chapel on the Green yesterday! We were so blessed by them and by First Baptist Branford, who brought us lunch as well as hats, scarves, and gloves. We are so lucky to have friends like these. Next week: CotG’s 17th anniversary—don’t miss it!
