But it befits us to glory in the Cross of our Lord ✝️

In this Gospel this past Sunday, Jesus revealed to his disciples the death that he was to die, leaving his disciples unmoored. At Communion, the Choir reflected on the revelation of this sacrifice and the victory it would win with this motet by Palestrina. The Choir is back! ✨🎶

Yesterday, August 30th, we celebrated the return of the Choir for the 2026-27 season. Throughout this year, you can expect many more exciting musical offerings, such as this wonderful anthem by 20th-century American composer Julia Perry. Join us this coming Sunday, September 6th, at 11 am for Solemn High Mass and at 9 pm for Compline with music by Holst, Fox, and Wood.

Sunday at Christ Church: THE THIRTEENTH SUNDAY AFTER PENTECOST

Welcome back!

As the academic year begins, we’re excited to see familiar faces returning from the summer—and to welcome those who are new to New Haven, whether you’re here for school, work, or a new chapter in life.

🎵The Christ Church Choir returns this Sunday, singing at the 11:00am Solemn High Mass.

⛲️We’ll also welcome a new member of the Body of Christ through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism at the 11:00am Mass.

🕯️And Compline is back! Join at 9:00pm for candlelight, incense, and the quiet beauty of this ancient office of night prayer.

We’re glad to begin another year together. See you at church!
