We are a family of faith made up of members from a wide diversity of ethnic, cultural, and racial backgrounds, yet we are joined together by the love of Christ. We are on the corner of Edwards and Livingston Streets, near Yale University, in the East Rock neighborhood, between Whitney Avenue and Orange Sreet. First Baptist Church (FBC) in New Haven is near downtown in a residential section of New

Haven. Many in our congregation are affiliated with Yale University. We live in New Haven and in the surrounding suburbs of Hamden, East Haven, West Haven, Milford and Cheshire. We are a diverse congregation and our population is comprised of mixed ages, ethnic and educational backgrounds and professions. Carrying forward the tradition of its inter-racial founding, FBC is today a living testimony to the Apostle Paul’s claim that “we are all one in Christ.” Recent members have hailed from Poland, Liberia, Taiwan, Romania, Chile, Jamaica, Haiti, Myanmar (Burma), Guyana, Greece, Belarus, India, Congo and throughout the United States, proclaiming together the glory of God and the transforming, reconciling power of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We are a congregation affiliated with the American Baptist Churches of Connecticut and of the USA. We support the ministries of the Interfaith Cooperative Ministries and Christian Community Action Agency in New Haven.

• 11:00 AM Living History Tour: Journey through our past and bear witness to the living history of our sacred space, led by our cherished longtime member, Rev. Kingsley Emerson.

📍 Location: First Baptist Church, 205 Edwards St, New Haven, CT 06511

As faithful stewards of our church’s long history in New Haven, we are prayerfully discerning the future of selected pieces from our collection.

We invite those who appreciate fine craftsmanship and local heritage to join us for an onsite preservation sale. This is a rare opportunity to acquire unique items that have served generations of worship and community life—many of which make stunning statement pieces for a home or business.

Each acquired piece will be accompanied by a custom certificate of provenance to honor its history.

Offering a curated selection of:

• Antique china and dining service
• Hand-crafted wooden furnishings
• Framed historic prints and ecclesiastical artifacts
• Vintage institutional decor and keepsakes

All proceeds directly benefit First Baptist Church “Future of First Ministry and Preservation Fund“, fueling our long-term strategic planning, historic preservation, and continued community ministry.

Schedule: Worship from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by the picnic from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM

We are excited to announce our Summer Challenge at First Baptist Church in New Haven! For this month only, we have an incredible opportunity to double our impact.

Two anonymous donors have pledged to match every dollar given to the church dollar-for-dollar up to $2,000!

We are working to raise these funds to support several vital needs within our music ministry, including:

• Repairing our Austin 2-manual organ

• Tuning our Steinway grand piano
