🔥 The hardest flex isn’t getting even—it’s choosing kindness.

When someone talks behind your back, leaves you out, or treats you unfairly, your first reaction might be to strike back. Romans 12:14 challenges us to do something completely different:

✨ Respond with grace.
✨ Choose kindness over revenge.
✨ Refuse to let someone else’s negativity control your character.

Being kind to people who are kind to you is easy. Being kind to people who aren’t? That’s where real strength shows up.

💭 Question: What would change in your life if you stopped focusing on getting even and started focusing on becoming better?

✨ “Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good. His love endures forever.” — Psalm 136:1

Some days feel amazing. Other days feel like everything is going wrong.

Psalm 136:1 reminds us that gratitude isn’t about having a perfect life—it’s about recognizing that goodness and love can still be found even in difficult moments.

💛 When your grades aren’t what you hoped.
💛 When friendships get complicated.
💛 When you’re stressed about the future.

Take a moment to notice one thing you’re thankful for today.

The message of this verse is simple: goodness matters, gratitude changes perspective, and love lasts longer than our toughest days.

🌱 What’s one thing you’re grateful for right now?

Remember when you were a kid and fell down? Someone would smile, hold out a hand, and say, "Upsy daisy!" It was a simple reminder that a stumble wasn't the end of the story.

Life doesn't stop bringing falls. We make mistakes. We face disappointments. We carry regrets. Sometimes we feel like staying down because getting back up seems too hard. The beautiful thing about God is that He doesn't stand at a distance waiting for us to figure it out on our own. He reaches toward us with grace, mercy, and love. When we feel broken, defeated, or lost, He reminds us that our failures don't define us.

In a way, God's message to us is an eternal "upsy daisy"—not minimizing our struggles, but lifting us through them. No matter how many times you've stumbled, God is still extending a hand.

Upsy daisy child. God's not finished with you yet.

Ever felt like you had to pass an unwritten test just to belong? Whether it’s having the right clothes, listening to the right music, or keeping up with the perfect feed, the world loves to create VIP sections. We divide ourselves into cliques, judging who is "in" and who is "out".

God plays by an entirely different set of rules. Check out Romans 15:7:👉 "Therefore, welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God." (ESV)

Let’s break down what this actually means for us today:

1️⃣ "Welcome one another...not just a polite nod in the school hallway. The original word means to take someone by the hand, pull them into your circle, and give them a place to belong. It means actively destroying the cliques.
2️⃣ "...as Christ has welcomed you." How did Jesus welcome you? He didn't wait for you to get your life fully together, clean up your mistakes, or look perfect. He embraced you with all your flaws, doubts, and messy moments. That is the exact standard He expects us to show to the people around us, even the ones who are hard to love.
3️⃣ "...for the glory of God." When a group of totally different people, with different backgrounds, different styles, and different opinions, can sit at the same table and genuinely love each other, the world stops and notices. It proves that the Gospel is real and powerful.

The challenge: Look around you this week. Who is standing alone? Go build a bigger table. Pull up a chair for them. Welcome them the exact same way Jesus welcomed you.

Drop a 🤝 in the comments if you're committing to building a bigger circle this week!

😬 Myth: “My friends will make fun of me if I go to church.”

Maybe they will joke. Maybe they’ll ask questions. But here’s the truth:

The people who really care about you won’t stop being your friends because you spend an hour on Sunday exploring faith. Nobody thinks twice if you go to the gym, join a sports team, or binge a new Netflix series. Why should seeking purpose, hope, and community be any different?

Honestly? More people are curious about faith than you might think. Some of your friends may be wondering the same things you are, they’re just waiting for someone else to go first.

Don’t let fear of a few comments keep you from discovering something that could change your life. Jesus never said, “Follow Me… as long as everyone approves.”

💙 You don’t need your friends’ permission to explore your faith.

2026 Lower Susquehanna Synod Assembly- The theme “Confluence in Christ” reflects the way in which our waterways converge into the Susquehanna River. Thank you Sue Smith for bringing some water for us to add to the community collection of water from around the synod. Tom Melnichak and Pastor Jenny join Sue at the assembly where Bishop Herr is leading his first assembly as bishop.

Ever feel like you've messed up too much, drifted too far, or don't have life figured out? Jesus had a different perspective.

In Luke 19:10, He said: "For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost."

Notice He didn't say He came for the people who had it all together. He came looking for people who were struggling, searching, doubting, hurting, and trying to find their way.

If you've ever felt lost, whether spiritually, emotionally, or just in life, you are exactly the kind of person Jesus was talking about.

You don't have to clean yourself up before coming to God. His love meets you where you are.

💔 Everyone gets hurt.

Friendships end. People disappoint us. Life doesn’t always go the way we planned.

Psalm 147:3 says:
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”

Whether you see that as faith, hope, or simply a reminder that healing is possible, it’s a powerful message: your pain doesn’t have to be the end of your story.

Healing takes time. Scars may remain. But broken things can be restored.

If you’re carrying something heavy today, remember: hurt is real—but so is healing. ❤️
