ST. PAUL’S EASTER SEASON ACTIVITIES. Easter celebrates our new life through faith in Jesus’ resurrection. Close to 500 plastic, candy-filled eggs were hidden on the playground early Easter morning for the Egg Hunt. Eggs were a variety of colors based on Jesus’ Life and ministry. Some were lamb-shaped because Jesus is the lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. The Easter Children’s Program included a Message, “Where do Easter Eggs Come From?” and singing with dancing. After the Egg Hunt, Easter Crafts were offered in Fellowship Hall. The Life Cycle of the Butterfly was used to help children understand Jesus’ resurrection during weekday school chapels in late April and during the Gathering Worship Service, a 30 minute, interactive, joyful, family-friendly service, on April 26 at 9am.

A SNOWY BAPTISM. As the snow continued to fall, just over 20 family members and church friends made their way to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church for Logan’s Baptism last Sunday. Logan Alexander Poliey, born Aug 29, son of Keith & Emily Poliey, little brother of Nicole (a St. Paul’s Christian Day School 3-year-old), and Grandson of Tom & Ellen Smith, received the Sacrament of Holy Baptism on January 18. The Baptism Liturgy came early in the worship service, which included Holy Communion, contemporary and traditional songs, and readings offered by Grandfather Tom Smith and Uncle and Godparent TJ Smith. We also enjoyed a Special Coffee Hour in Logan’s honor following the service in Fellowship Hall. An intimate, memorable and special time!

CHRIST MASS CANDLELIGHT SERVICE. We celebrated the birth of Jesus, the Light of the World, at 4:30pm on December 24 with a festive, traditional candlelight Holy Communion Service. Our beautifully decorated sanctuary, beloved Christmas Carols, adult and children’s sermons, special music, and candlelight singing of “Silent Night” renewed our stress-weary souls. May Jesus, the Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, and Prince of Peace be born anew in our lives and world in 2026.

THE CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS PAGEANT was held on Dec 21 during St. Paul’s 11:00 am Worship Service. The “Good News” of Jesus’ birth was presented by adult readers and the dramatic words and actions of our young people in, “Promise of a Savior.” Many thanks to Pageant Coordinators Angela Pakiela and Libby Willenbrink, Assistants Kirsten Helmers and Emily Poliey, Digital Musician Helen Lehtinen, and our young people for their willingness to participate. BISHOP FOSTER’S VISIT, DEC 7, 2025. We welcomed the Bishop of the Metropolitan New York Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, the Rev. Dr. Katrina D. Foster, to St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Bishop Foster was our guest Preacher during the 11:00am Worship Service. A special Coffee Hour in her honor was held in Fellowship Hall following worship. The Bishop also toured the church and school facility and met with Pastor Rhonda. Thanks to all who led worship and attended the service, contributed to the Coffee Hour, and engaged in warm and welcoming conversation with our new Bishop. Bishop Foster said to Pastor before she left, “This has been a lovely day.”

CDS STORYTIME WITH SANTA 2025. Many thanks to Santa (Tim Pierce) who came to spend some magical moments with St. Paul’s Christian Day School on Dec 3 & 4. Our 140 preschoolers were overjoyed! This gathering in Fellowship Hall included reading the Dr. Seuss story, "How the Grinch Lost Christmas,” a question and answer time with the children, and taking class photos with Santa. An Advent/Christmas season favorite event!
