Call to Worship
Praise the Lord among the nations
and sing praises to his name.
2 Sam. 22:50
Blessed are you, oh Lord, the God of Israel our father, forever and ever. Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power in the glory and the victory in the majesty. We thank you, our God, and praise your glorious name.
1 Chron. 29:10–11, 13
Adoration
Listen and sing (https://youtu.be/P8Hj68FGv5E) along to the hymn “Praise to the Lord, The Almighty.”
1 Praise to the Lord, the Almighty, the King of creation!O my soul, praise him, for he is your health and salvation!Come, all who hear; now to his temple draw near, join me in glad adoration.
2 Praise to the Lord, above all things so wondrously reigning;sheltering you under his wings, and so gently sustaining!Have you not seen all that is needful has beensent by his gracious ordaining?
3 Praise to the Lord, who will prosper your work and defend you;surely his goodness and mercy shall daily attend you.Ponder anew what the Almighty can do, if with his love he befriends you.
4 Praise to the Lord! O let all that is in me adore him!All that has life and breath, come now with praises before him.Let the Amen sound from his people again;gladly forever adore him.
Confession & Assurance
Consider how holy and righteous God is from Isaiah 6:1–5:
In the year that King Uzziah died I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up; and the train of his robe filled the temple. Above him stood the seraphim. Each had six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. And one called to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!” And the foundations of the thresholds shook at the voice of him who called, and the house was filled with smoke. And I said: “Woe is me! For I am lost; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts!
Reflect upon your own need for Christ in light of God’s holiness:
He committed no sin, neither was deceit found in his mouth. When he was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten, butcontinued entrusting himself to him who judges justly. He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. For you were straying like sheep, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls (1 Peter 2:22–25).
Be reminded of the greatness of God’s grace towards you by listening and singing (https://youtu.be/MPC-aBdIu0o)“He will Hold me Fast.”
When I fear my faith will failChrist will hold me fastWhen the tempter would prevailHe will hold me fast
I could never keep my holdThrough life's fearful pathFor my love is often coldHe must hold me fast
He will hold me fastHe will hold me fastFor my Saviour loves me soHe will hold me fast
Those He saves are His delightChrist will hold me fastPrecious in His holy sightHe will hold me fast
He'll not let my soul be lostHis promises shall lastBought by Him at such a costHe will hold me fast
He will hold me fastHe will hold me fastFor my Saviour loves me soHe will hold me fast
For my life He bled and diedChrist will hold me fastJustice has been satisfiedHe will hold me fast
Raised with Him to endless lifeHe will hold me fast'Til our faith is turned to sightWhen He comes at last!
He will hold me fastHe will hold me fastFor my Saviour loves me soHe will hold me fast
He will hold me fastHe will hold me fastFor my Saviour loves me soHe will hold me fast
Thanksgiving
Express thanksgiving to God for the cross of Christ by listening and singing (https://youtu.be/p3WfR8z9D94) along to “When I Survey the Wondrous Cross.”
1 When I survey the wondrous crosson which the Prince of glory died,my richest gain I count but loss, and pour contempt on all my pride.
2 Forbid it, Lord, that I should boastsave in the death of Christ, my God!All the vain things that charm me most, I sacrifice them through his blood.
3 See, from his head, his hands, his feet, sorrow and love flow mingled down. Did e'er such love and sorrow meet, or thorns compose so rich a crown?
4 Were the whole realm of nature mine, that were a present far too small. Love so amazing, so divine, demands my soul, my life, my all.

Read & Reflect on God’s Word
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls. Concerning this salvation, the prophets who prophesied about the grace that was to be yours searched and inquired carefully, inquiring what person or time the Spirit of Christ in them was indicating when he predicted the sufferings of Christ and the subsequent glories. It was revealed to them that they were serving not themselves but you, in the things that have now been announced to you through those who preached the good news to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven, things into which angels long to look. (1 Peter 1:3–12)
Song of Response
Sing the Doxology:
Praise God from whom all blessings flow.
Praise Him, all creatures here below.
Praise Him above ye heav’nly host.
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.
Benediction
May the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.
