GOD’s WAITING ROOM
Throughout the Bible, God's greatest leaders spent time in the waiting room. Scripture reminds us that delays are active seasons of preparation where our character is refined. Waiting is a part of life and it can be hard. Most of us would prefer quick, efficient, and when possible, instant results and answers. Well we all know that's not always the way it happens. We can wait days, months, years, or even decades for a prayer to be answered, for an overdue apology, for the timing to be right or for a dream to finally come true. While waiting, we want to be a patient person, but sometimes we get annoyed waiting and sometimes we can be rude, selfish, jealous, unthoughtful, or arrogant. We try and intend to be kind and desire to be a content and humble person. God knows the struggles we have and He wants to help us. We must be willing to surrender our way of thinking and genuinely look to Him. Waiting patiently for the Lord isn't an excuse to sit back and do nothing.
We can proactively wait on God by staying in communication with Him, reading His Word, His plans, His promises and His truth, helping one another, showing love and giving hope for people both inside and outside of our circles. Worship Him no matter what's happening in our lives, looking and seeing His hand in the many ordinary moments. It doesn't mean that God isn't moving when a specific door isn't opening or a particular opportunity isn't available. We must remember even when we are waiting...God is working. Continue thanking Him for the gifts He's already given.
Remember, no matter what we face daily, we can ask God for anything. The patience is the waiting and trusting that He is in control of the future. Yes, when we rely on the Lord, we become someone who waits well. God's design, the "waiting room" is not a penalty box; it is a sacred classroom.
Psalm 27: 14
Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the LORD!
Isaiah 40: 31
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Psalm 46: 10
"Be still, and know that I am God."
Prayer
God, I am so grateful that you are all knowing in my life. I often want quick answers and solutions for my problems and it can be hard to wait, but I know that Your timing and Your ways are perfect. I am so thankful and praise You for the blessings I have been given and for all things You are still going to do. Holy Spirit take my hand, guide me, giving wisdom, strength and courage in the waiting. All Honor Glory and Praise in the Name of Jesus! AMEN AMEN AMEN
