Come home for a Sunday. Homecoming Sunday is only a few weeks away, and we would truly love to see you.

On Sunday, June 28, we’ll be gathering together for a special Homecoming Service with Brother Tippy Price, followed by a pitch-in lunch and fellowship afterward.

Church isn’t just a building. For many of us, it’s years of memories, friendships, prayers, laughter, potluck meals, hugs in hard seasons, and people who once felt like family.

Over the years, life has taken people in different directions. Some still worship here each week. Others have found church homes elsewhere. Some we simply haven’t seen in a long while.

This day isn’t about pulling people away from where God has planted them. It’s simply an open invitation to reconnect, visit, worship together again, and spend time with people who shared a meaningful part of life together.

There’s something special blossoming in our little church, and we’d love for you to come be part of Homecoming Sunday with us.

Come worship with us. Stay for lunch. Reconnect with old friends. Make some new memories too.

You will always be welcome here ❤️

Please note the time change for this special service: there will be no Sunday School on the 28th. Although our typical worship is at 10:30am on Sunday mornings, we will have our Homecoming service at 10am.

How many problems could be avoided if we listened a little longer and reacted a little slower?

James gives us some simple but powerful wisdom:

"Let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath." (James 1:19 KJV)

Most of us naturally do the opposite. We rush to speak. We jump to conclusions. We react before we've truly listened.

But God's way is different.

A listening heart is a teachable heart. A careful tongue can prevent unnecessary hurt. A patient spirit leaves room for God to work.

Today, before responding in frustration, pause. Before speaking, listen. Before becoming angry, pray.

You may be surprised what God can do in the space between hearing and reacting.

Have a blessed day. ❤️

As the day winds down, we’re thankful for one more opportunity to rest in the peace and protection of the Lord. No matter what today held, busy moments, burdens, victories, or worries, God is still faithful through it all.

Praying tonight brings comfort to your home, calm to your heart, and restful sleep to you and your loved ones. 🌛

“ I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.”
Psalm 4:8 KJV

Today we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives for our freedom. 🇺🇸

Their sacrifice is a gift we can never fully repay, but we can choose to live with gratitude, faith, and remembrance.

“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”
— John 15:13 (KJV)

From all of us at North side Church of God, thank you to those who served, those who gave their lives, and to the families who sacrificed alongside them. We will never forget. ❤️

“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God…”
Isaiah 41:10 (KJV)

What a comforting reminder that we were never meant to carry life’s burdens alone.

God never promised we would never face fear, uncertainty, grief, or difficult seasons. But He did promise His presence, His strength, and His help through them all.

Whatever you may be facing today, take heart.
The same God who holds the universe is still holding you.

Thoughts inspired by Sunday night's sermon: We sing “This Little Light of Mine” as a children’s song, but there’s actually something deeply convicting hidden inside it.

If Christ is in us, the light is already there.

The problem isn’t that God forgot to give us light. It’s that fear, insecurity, distraction, compromise, pride, exhaustion, or the opinions of others cause us to cover it up.

Jesus said we ARE the light of the world. The question is whether we’re hiding that light or letting it shine.

“Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel…”
Matthew 5:15 (KJV)

Some of us have spent years dimming what God placed inside of us because we were afraid of standing out, speaking up, serving, forgiving, leading, or simply being different.

If Christ lives within us, the light is already there. We just have to stop covering it up.

This little light of mine… I’m gonna LET it shine!

Thoughts inspired by our sermon this morning: “Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.” Ecclesiastes 9:10 (KJV)

So many of us spend our lives waiting.

Waiting for better circumstances.
Waiting until we feel more qualified.
Waiting until life calms down.
Waiting until we feel “ready.”

But the truth is, tomorrow is not promised to any of us.

Ecclesiastes reminds us that life is fragile and unpredictable. The race is not always won by the swift, nor the battle by the strong. Time and chance happen to us all.

That’s why God isn’t asking us to sit on the sidelines until we think we’re talented enough, important enough, or prepared enough.

He’s asking for willingness. Faithfulness. Availability.

Whatever God has placed in front of you, do it wholeheartedly. Love people well. Serve faithfully. Forgive quickly. Encourage others. Share the Gospel. Use your gifts. Be obedient in the ordinary things.

If today were our last day, could we honestly say we tried to live for Christ with all our might?

Not perfectly. Faithfully.

Romans 12 paints a picture of what Christian living should truly look like.

Not only in moments of peace and blessing, but in the middle of hardship, pressure, disappointment, and daily life.

“Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer.”
Romans 12:12 KJV

This kind of faith is not passive. It is steady. Enduring. Prayerful. Rooted deeply in the goodness and faithfulness of God.

Even in difficult seasons, Scripture calls believers to remain faithful, love sincerely, serve humbly, and continue steadfastly in prayer.

That kind of life stands out in a weary world.
