Sermon Recap | The Makings of the Mature Christian
Philippians 3:15–16

Today’s message reminded us that Christian maturity is not about claiming we have arrived, but continuing to press toward Christ together in faithfulness.

Paul teaches that mature believers must have the right mindset: humble enough to admit they still need to grow, teachable enough to receive what God reveals, and faithful enough to live by the truth they already know.

Main Points:

1. Mature Christians acknowledge what they do not yet know about Christ.

They understand that Christ has saved them, but He is still sanctifying them.

2. Mature Christians accept what they still need to know about Christ.

They stay teachable and trust God to reveal truth through His Word and Spirit.

3. Mature Christians apply what they already know about Christ.

They do not just hear the truth; they walk in it. They live what they have learned!

The call is clear: focus on Christ, move forward in faith, and walk together in the truth of the gospel.

🙌 Sunday Sermon Recap | "A Priceless Pursuit"
📖 Philippians 3:12–14

"It's not how you start — it's how you finish."

This week we dove into one of Paul's most powerful passages, where he reminds us that the Christian life is not a destination we arrive at, but a **lifelong pursuit** of knowing Christ more fully.

Salvation is not the finish line — it's the starting line. 🏁

---
3 Principles to Endure in Your Pursuit of Christ:

1️⃣ We Have Not Yet Arrived (v.12)
Paul — an apostle, missionary, and church planter — looked at himself and said, "I have not arrived." Spiritual maturity should never lead to self-satisfaction. We press on, not to earn God's love, but because Christ has already taken hold of us.

2️⃣ We Must Leave Behind What Hinders Us (v.13)
Paul says, "Forgetting what lies behind…" — and that goes two ways:

🔹 Past Sins — Your guilt and shame do not disqualify you. *"There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." (Romans 8:1). God took a persecutor of the Church and made him one of its greatest preachers. **We all have a past, but because of Christ, we have a future!**

🔹 Past Successes— Yesterday's victories can become today's complacency. Our accomplishments are a testimony to God's grace — not a reason to stop growing. **Let your past develop you, not define you.**

3️⃣ We Must Strive Forward Faithfully (v.14)
"I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus."

Paul's eyes were fixed on the finish line — not earthly success, comfort, or recognition — but Christ Himself. The goal is heaven. The prize is knowing Jesus completely. "Set your minds on things that are above." (Colossians 3:1-2)

---

💬 A friend once told me: "The trick to marathons isn't how fast you run — it's that you cross the finish line. It doesn't matter if you run, walk, or jog — just finish the race."

Whether you're running, walking, or jogging — stay in the race! Jesus pursued the Cross so that we could faithfully pursue Him.

"I have decided to follow Jesus… the world behind me, the cross before me. No turning back, no turning back."🎵

---

Keep pressing toward the upward call of God in Christ. The pursuit is priceless. 🙏

SUNDAY SERMON RECAP | "I Want to Know Him" | Philippians 3:10–11

---

Have you ever stopped to ask yourself — do I really know Christ, or do I just know about Him?

This Sunday, we were challenged to go deeper than church membership, deeper than head knowledge, and pursue what the Apostle Paul called the greatest goal of the Christian life:

The greatest goal of the Christian life is to know Christ fully and live for Christ faithfully!"

Paul laid out three practices to help every believer know Christ more:

1. The Believer's Desire (v.10a) — "That I May Know Him"
This isn't casual, surface-level knowledge. Paul is talking about an intimate, personal, experiential relationship with Jesus — a shift from *rules* to *relationship*. Truly knowing Jesus means moving from comprehension to apprehension — embracing Him as Lord and Savior in our daily lives.

2. The Believer's Dedication (v.10b) — Power & Pain
Knowing Christ is both a **powerful** and **painful** experience.

✅ The Power of His Resurrection — The same power that raised Jesus from the dead is at work in YOU. The Christian life cannot be lived on willpower alone — we need His power, the Holy Spirit!

✅ The Fellowship of His Sufferings — Many want the power without the suffering, but Paul placed them together. Paul wanted his life shaped by the cross. Suffering for Christ is not a sign we're far from Him — it may be evidence we're walking *closely* with Him.

3. The Believer's Determination (v.11) — Eyes on the Resurrection
Paul lived with holy seriousness. He remain cautiously close to the cross. He kept his eyes fixed on the final resurrection — the believer's ultimate hope. When you have hope for tomorrow, you can live for today!

💬 **This week's questions to sit with:**

- Am I pursuing Christ Himself, or just the benefits He gives?
- Am I experiencing His power in my daily walk?
- Am I willing to share in His sufferings?

**Because He Lives — I Can Face Tomorrow!** 🙏
