"Father, Jesus, Holy Spirit—thank you for Your faithfulness to me LORD! You are so faithful LORD. I am so grateful. I cannot imagine life lived outside of You, God. Without Your love and blessing, my life does not work. So, I ask for Your love, favor, and blessing on all of the projects, and in all activates this day. I pray for Godly Awareness, LORD the leading of Your Holy Spirit on myself and family. I want to live each day in alignment with You, LORD Jesus. Deepen our union and strengthen our oneness so that we are aligned with You in all things! Thank You, LORD! In Jesus' name, I pray!" Amen. John Eldredge

Colossians 1:11. I also pray that I (we)will be Strengthened with all Your glorious power so I (we) will have all the endurance and patience I (we) need. May I (we)be filled with Your Life, Love, Mercy, and Joy so that I (we) will not give up when troubles come, but I (we) will be patient.

Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he [is] God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations; (Deuteronomy 7:9)

What a tremendous God we serve! This fitting description tells of our faithful and loving God who is Lord over all the earth and heaven. The Creator of all things could never love us more or less, for He is acquainted with all our ways. His grace does not extend to the Israelites alone, but to all who believe in every generation (cf. Gal 3:6-29). This is the God we serve! This is the God we worship! Blue Letter Bible.

Hebrews 11:6 New Living Translation

And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.

Paul wrote, “There was given me a thorn in my flesh, from Satan, to torment me. Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9 NIV).

The cancer in the body. The sorrow in the heart. The child in the rehab center. The craving for whiskey in the middle of the day. The tears in the middle of the night. The thorn in the flesh. “Take it away,” you’ve pleaded. Not once, twice, or even three times. You’ve out-prayed the Apostle Paul and you’re about to hit the wall. But what you hear Jesus say is this, “My grace is sufficient for you.”

Sustaining grace. The grace that meets us at our point of need and equips us with courage, wisdom, and strength. Sustaining grace! It doesn’t promise the absence of struggle. But it does promise the presence of God.

You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to.

Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being.

When he appeared in human form, he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross.

Philippians 2:5-8 New Living Translation

One day it dawned on me. I had become the very thing I hate. A hypocrite. A pretender. Two-faced. I’d written sermons about people like me. Christians who care more about their appearance than integrity.

I knew what I needed to do. I’d written sermons about that, too. 1 John 1:8-9 says, “If we say we have no sin, we are fooling ourselves, and the truth is not in us. But if we confess our sins, he will forgive our sins, because we can trust God to do what is right.” I needed to confess.

What is confession? Well, confession is not complaining. If I just recite my problems and rehash my woes, I’m whining. Confession is a radical reliance upon grace. Maybe you need to do what I’ve done in the last few days. You just need to confess. God will hear your confession. And in your confession you will find a wonder of God’s grace. You see grace creates an honest confession. And then great grace, receives it. Max Lucado

Holy Spirit, thank You for coming. I love You; I worship You; I trust You. I honor You as my LORD. I graciously receive all the work and triumph in Pentecost, through which You have come, You have clothed me with Power from on high, sealed me in Christ, developed my union with the Father and The Son, became The Spirit of Truth in me, the Life of God in me, my Counselor, Comforter, Strength, and Guide, so now by the POWER of The Holy Trinity, I have Holy Supremacy to overcome all temptations, all works of the flesh, and all the works of the Devil. Help me to choose You every time, before temptations and sins negatively impact me and my soul, in that instant, provide me with Your Holy Resistance and Strength giving me a willingness to overcome and NOT be controlled by evil.

Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean [thing]; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. (2 Corinthians 6:17-18)

As Christians, we have been called out of this sinful and perverse world. Although we are in this wicked world, we are certainly not of it. For the Father's good pleasure alone, we have been separated from darkness that we may do His good works. Just as we will escape from the final judgment of God unscathed, so too has the close attachment to our Father been made unbreakable. Nothing can separate us from His love and grace! BLB

To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. (Colossians 1:27)

When you think of the Cross, what comes to mind? Death?
Salvation? Hope? What about the word offensive? That’s how
Paul referred to it when writing to the church in Galatia.
Centuries before that, Isaiah called it a stumbling block. But
although it is foolishness to those who don’t believe, to those
being saved, it is the power of God (1 Cor. 1:18).
As we gaze upon the cross, it becomes a mirror that reflects
our true selves and a magnifier that enlarges our view of who
we are. Sadly, this may not always be a pleasant portrayal. We
may be tempted to look away as we come face-to-face with
shame, anger, lust, or pride. When we truly examine ourselves
through the Cross, we see the sin and ugliness that Christ died
to redeem. We realize that we’re not so different from Judas.
And this offensiveness can leave us feeling discouraged and
hopeless.
Thankfully, God’s weakness is stronger than the greatest effort
we can put forth (1 Cor. 1:25). He hasn’t left us alone to face
this offense. He has given us the Holy Spirit, which is His
power in us, and has removed the offense of the Cross. As we
look to the Cross, we no longer see condemnation but hope as
He transforms us to be more like Him.
day 1 | mirror & magnifier
Scripture: Galatians 5:11; Isaiah 8:14; 1 Corinthians 1:18–31
Reflect
What words come to mind when you think of the Cross?
In what ways is the Cross a mirror and magnifier for you?
Pray
Father, thank You for giving me Your Holy Spirit as my
strength. Help me to look to the Cross to see what You’ve done
for me and let it transform me to be more like Your Son. In His
name, amen
