Our cousin Laura Faye Smith passed away today. She was such a sweet, kind, and helpful lady. The Cemetery Association sends condolences to her many friends and loving family. She will be buried next to her husband Arvil Smith at the cemetery.

We had a lovely day at the cemetery. It was a little warm but the food was yummy. We would love to see more of you! We are thinking about doing something in the fall.
Today Imogene Macias resigned as a member of the board. She has been so dedicated to the preservation of the cemetery. She feels that it is time to give the responsibility to upcoming generations.
Hilda Hendrix, Chris Richey, and Paul Vick are new board members. (It going to take 3 board members to replace one Imy!) 😀
Edit: Joe Perkins also resigned from the board due to illness.

If you are unable to attend, please send your annual donation to Treasurer Gay Nell Hogue. If you need her address please message me.

We visited the cemetery today to pay our respects. Everything looked really good. I noticed that someone cleared some of the bushes, gardenias I think, around Charlie Freeman's grave. There are 3 or 4 baby graves that I had never seen before. It looks really good, whoever did it, thanks. Here are some pics from today. I put some captions on them. One is kind of disturbing.
Also there is a really big brush pile that needs to be burned when it is safe.

I wanted to share the poem that I read at the cemetery.

We had a wonderful day yesterday at the cemetery. Thank you for coming and supporting our efforts. Henrietta Jones, you are amazing. Your energy and efforts helped to make a successful celebration. Of course, the addition of the "Memorial toilet" was no small feat for you, Wendall, and your sister. It was genius! Well done! Jen Hayden, thank you so much for the cupcakes and drinks. The pics for the cupcakes were such a hit! Bill Hayden, thank you for your unwavering support and willingness to help in any way. Thank you!
