So, He came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up.
And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and He stood up to read.
And He was handed the book of Isaiah. And when He had opened the book. He found the place where it was written:
“THE Spirit of the Lord is upon Me
Because He has anointed Me
To preach the gospel to the poor;
He has sent me to heal the broken-hearted
To proclaim liberty to the captives
And recovery of the sight to the blind
To set at liberty those who are oppressed
To proclaim the acceptable of the LORD.
Then He closed the book, and gave it back to the attendant and sat down . And the eyes of all who were in the synagogue, were fixed on Him.
And he began to say to them, “Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing......Luke 4:16-21 NKJV

WEEKLY MEMORY TEXT: 06/05/2026
There shall come forth a Rod from the stem of Jesse,
And as branch shall grow out of his roots.
The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him,
The Spirit of wisdom and understanding,
The Spirit of counseling and might,
The Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the LORD.
His delight IS in the fear of the LORD,
He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes,
Nor deciding by the hearing of His ears;
But with righteousness He shall Judge the poor,
And decide with equity for the meek of the earth;
He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth,
And with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked,
Righteousness shall be the belt of His loins,
AND faithfulness the belt of His waist.
“The wolf shall dwell with the lamb,
The leopard shall lie down with the young goat?
The calf and the young lion and the fatling together;
And a little child shall lead them.
The cow and the bear shall graze;
Their young ones shall lie down together
And the lion shall eat straw like the ox
The nursing child shall play by the cobra’s
hole.
And the weaned child shall put his hand in the viper’s den.
They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain,

AND the child Samuel helping the LORD by assisting Eli. Messages from the LORD were very rare in those days, but one night after Eli had gone to bed (he was almost blind by age now), and Samuel was sleeping in the Temple near the Ark,the LORD called out, “Samuel!, Samuel!”
“”Yes?” Samuel replied, “What is it?” He jumped up and ran to Eli, Here I am. What do you want” he asked.
“I didn’t call you,” Eli said, “Go back to your bed,” . So he did, Then the LORD called again, “Samuel!”. And again Samuel jumped up and ran to Eli.
“Yes?” he asked,”What do you need?”
“No, I didn’t call you,my son.” Eli said,go on back to bed.
(Samuel had never had a message from Jehovah before) So now the LORD called the third time, and once more Samuel jumped up and ran to Eli.
“Yes” he asked, what do you need?”
“Then Eli realized it was the LORD who had spoken to the child. So he said to Samuel, “ Go and lie down again, and if He calls again, say “Yes, LORD I am listening.” So Samuel went back to bed.
And the LORD came and called as before, “Samuel!, Samuel!”.
And Samuel replied. “Yes, I’m listening.”

Then the LORD said to Samuel , “I am going to do a shocking thing in Israel. I am going to do all dreadful things I warned Eli about......1 Samuel 3:1-10 The Living Bible

In the name of the LORD Jesus Christ, we command you, brothers, to keep away from every brother who is idle and does not live according to the teaching you received from us.For yourselves know how you ought to follow our example.
We were not idle when we were with you, nor did we eat any one’s food without paying for it. On the contrary, we worked night and day, laboring and toiling so that we would not be a burden to any of you. We did this, not because we do not have the right to such help, but in order to make ourselves a model for you to follow.
For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule; “If a man will not work, he shall not eat.”
We hear that some among you are idle. They are not busy; they are busybodies. Such people we command and urge in the LORD Jesus Christ to style down and earn bread they eat. And as for you, brothers,never tire of doing what is right.
If anyone does not obey our instruction in this letter, take special note of him, Do not associate with him, in order that he may feel ashamed. Yet do not regard him as an enemy, but warn him as a brother.
Now May the LORD of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The LORD be with all of you.

“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt looses it’s flavor, how shall it be seasoned?
It is then used for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.
“You are the light of the world.
A City that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.
“Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lamp stand, and it gives light to all who ARE in the house.
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
“Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.
“For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot OR one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.
