There are moments when the path ahead is unclear, and you don’t see how things will work out—but that’s when faith steps in.

Sometimes, you have to praise God on credit. You worship not because you see the miracle, but because you trust the One who performs it. Praise Him in advance—because He’s never failed, and He won’t start now.

08.16.24 Trusting in God's Perfect Timing

Scripture: Ecclesiastes 3:1 - "There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens."

Devotional:

In our fast-paced world filled with deadlines and schedules, it can be easy to become impatient and anxious when things don't happen according to our timeline. We often find ourselves questioning why certain prayers go unanswered or why our dreams seem to be taking so long to come to fruition. In these moments of waiting, it is important to remember that God's timing is perfect.

The Bible reminds us in Ecclesiastes 3:1 that there is a time for everything and a season for every activity under the heavens. Just as the changing seasons bring about new growth and transformation, God's timing in our lives is purposeful and intentional. He knows the plans He has for us, plans to prosper us and not to harm us, plans to give us hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).

When we trust in God's perfect timing, we can rest assured that He is working all things together for our good (Romans 8:28). Even when we cannot see the bigger picture or understand why things are unfolding the way they are, we can take comfort in knowing that God's ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts are higher than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:9).

So, as we navigate through seasons of waiting and uncertainty, let us hold on to our faith and trust in the Lord with all our hearts. Let us seek His guidance and direction, knowing that He will lead us on the right path at the appointed time. May we find peace in His promises and strength in His presence, knowing that His timing is always perfect and His love for us is everlasting. Amen.

🌟✝️ "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding." - Proverbs 3:5 🙏

Let us remember that God's plans for us are always greater than we can imagine. In times of uncertainty, let us find strength in His promises and have faith that He is always with us, guiding us through every challenge.

May we walk in His light and spread His love to all those around us. Have a blessed day! 🌟✝️

Exciting things are happening. In addition to being ordained as a Bishop in a couple of weeks, I’m blessed, humbled, and privileged to announce that after five years of planting The River Church of God, The River has all board members, pastoral council, and offices in place with 70+ active members and will now move from a church plant status to become an official organized church in the Church of God.

Cornieta Whitfield and I started this church after receiving a word from the Lord and confirmation from my mentor Bishop Joby Brady. With the guidance of our district overseer Bishop Jonathan Ramsey and our Administrative Bishop Kenneth Hill, we have successfully planted our very first church. The foundation is STRONG, the people are DIVERSE, the Lord has his hands on us, and the best is yet to come.

Please join us Sunday, June 30th, at 6:00 pm as we dedicate The River Church of God and install my wife and me as the lead pastors of The River Church of God.

4.8.24 Devotion: Trust in the Lord with All Your Heart

Scripture Reading: Proverbs 3:5-6

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths." (Proverbs 3:5-6)

Devotional Thought:

Trusting in the Lord with all our heart is easier said than done. In a world that constantly bombards us with uncertainties, fears, and challenges, it can be tempting to rely on our own understanding and strength. However, God's Word encourages us to put our trust in Him and lean on His wisdom rather than our limited understanding.

Trusting in the Lord requires surrendering our desires, plans, and worries to Him. It means acknowledging that His ways are higher than ours, and His thoughts are beyond our comprehension (Isaiah 55:9). When we trust in the Lord wholeheartedly, we lay aside the pride and self-sufficiency that often hinder us from relying on Him fully.

God knows the end from the beginning, and His wisdom is unsearchable. When we lean on our own understanding, we limit ourselves to our own perspectives and capabilities. Our understanding is limited, flawed, and often influenced by our own biases and emotions. But when we trust in the Lord, we tap into His infinite wisdom and understanding. We rely on His guidance, which is perfect and unfailing.

Trusting in the Lord with all our heart also requires acknowledging Him in all our ways. It means inviting Him into every aspect of our lives, seeking His guidance and direction in everything we do. When we acknowledge God in all our ways, we recognize His sovereignty over our lives. We submit our plans, decisions, and actions to Him, seeking His will above our own.

When we trust in the Lord and acknowledge Him in all our ways, the promise of Proverbs 3:6 becomes a reality in our lives. God promises to make our paths straight. He leads us on the right path, directing our steps and making a way where there seems to be no way. Though the journey may be challenging at times, we can rest assured that God is with us, guiding us every step of the way.

Trusting in the Lord with all our heart is a daily choice. It requires surrendering our doubts, fears, and uncertainties to Him and choosing to rely on His wisdom and understanding. As we trust in Him, let us remember that He is faithful, and His promises never fail. So, let us commit to trusting in the Lord wholeheartedly, knowing that He will lead us on the path of righteousness and bless us beyond measure.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, help us to trust in You with all our hearts and lean not on our own understanding. We acknowledge that Your ways are higher than ours and Your wisdom is perfect. Guide us in all our ways, and make our paths straight. May Your presence be evident in our lives as we put our trust in You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
