The pride of your heart has deceived you... Though you soar like the eagle... from there I will bring you down, declares the Lord. (Obadiah 1:3-4)

Ever felt like you're on top of the world, untouchable?

The prophet Obadiah delivered a wake-up call to the nation of Edom, who thought their mountain fortresses and rocky hideouts made them safe. They had grown proud and even gloated over Israel's suffering. But God saw their hearts.

Obadiah's message is clear: pride deceives, and God opposes the proud. Yet even in judgment, there's hope - the final verse promises, 'the kingdom will be the Lord's.'

Today, let's examine our own hearts. Are we trusting in our own strength, our own cleverness? Or are we humbly depending on God? True security isn't found in high places, but in bowing low before the King.

So Mephibosheth lived in Jerusalem, for he ate always at the king's table. Now he was lame in both his feet.

Mephibosheth knew what it meant to hide.
Crippled in both feet since childhood, he lived in a forgotten place called Lo-debar—a name that means 'no pasture.'
He likely felt unworthy, broken, and overlooked.

But King David remembered a promise made to Jonathan, and sent for Mephibosheth—not to punish him as a grandson of Saul, but to show him kindness.
David restored his land and gave him a permanent seat at the royal table.

The same grace finds you today.
You may feel limping through life, hidden in your own Lo-debar, but God has not forgotten you.
He calls you by name, restores what was lost, and invites you to feast at His table forever.
Come as you are—broken, yet beloved.

The LORD said to Gad, David’s seer, "Go and tell David, This is what the LORD says: I am giving you three options. Choose one of them for me to carry out against you." — 1 Chronicles 21:9-10

Gad was a prophet with a difficult job.
When King David sinned by counting his fighting men, God sent Gad to deliver a tough message.
Gad didn't soften the blow or avoid the king; he faithfully spoke what God told him to say, even offering David a choice of consequences.
In that moment, Gad's courage reminds us that following God sometimes means having hard conversations.
But God's mercy was woven into the judgment—He gave David options.
Today, when you face a tough truth to share or a difficult step of obedience, remember Gad.
Trust that God's word, even when challenging, is always paired with His mercy.
Be faithful, and leave the outcome to Him.
