The January 25 Call for clergy to come to Minneapolis to witness for immigrant justice and protest ICE and Border Patrol violence was organized by MARCH—Multifaith Anti-Racism and Healing.
The federal government is lying about Minneapolis. Through carefully managed public relations, they are attempting to convince the country that conditions have changed. They have not. Despite promises of a drawdown, Minneapolis remains under federal occupation. Brutal force continues to be enacted on communities, and terror is still being used to suppress resistance. Our neighboring communities, Columbia Heights and Fridley, have been particularly hard hit.
What was happening when Renee Good and Alex Pretti were murdered is still happening. The regime told us that we did not see what we all plainly saw. In response to the lies, the Rev. Thomas Keesecker, a Lutheran pastor, wrote this song, “Believe Your Eyes”, which the band and choir performed this past Sunday.

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

UU congregations across the nation have been "paying attention" to what's happening in Minnesota with the ICE raids and subsequent resistance movements. Many cards with messages of care and encouragement have been sent to the MW congregation. To see images of all those individual cards go to mergingwatersuu.org/cards

Rev. Krista will continue our exploration of Embodying Resilience in a homily titled "Grounding in This Moment." More about Sunday service and other upcoming activities can be found in this week's newsletter at mergingwatersuu.org/thursday-update
