Peace Lutheran Church is a congregation of the Southwest Texas Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. We are an open congregation focused on reaching out to God's people regardless of who they are or what they are. We strive to be a congregation to sees the face of God in each individual and value each person much. We are located on Walnut St just east of I-35. Please feel free to st

op by and visit us anytime. Our worship services are on Sundays at 8 AM and 10:30 AM. We primarily worship using the liturgical form of Lutheran worship but twice a month, we use a blended/contemporary style of worship at the 10:30 AM worship (first and third Sundays of the month).

Sunday’s Preview – Rest in Jesus

Read Matthew 11:25-30

We’re often pretty good at setting goals for the kind of people we want to become. The harder part is actually becoming them.

This Sunday, as we begin exploring the rhythms and practices of the spiritual life, we’ll hear Jesus’ invitation to something surprisingly different: “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me… and you will find rest for your souls.”

What if following Jesus isn’t about trying harder, but learning to relax into him—and allowing his gentle and humble heart to reshape our own?

Sunday’s Preview – Sabbatical Rest: Unlearning the Old Rhythms and Starting Anew

Read Psalm 46 & Luke 10:38-42

This Sunday, I’m back from a 3-month sabbatical. After a summer filled with incredible adventures, meaningful time with family, and much-needed rest, I’ve been pondering how this time away has shaped me and other disciples who can simply be with Jesus.

As we hear Jesus’ invitation to Mary and Martha and the words of Psalm 46, “Be still and know that I am God,” we’ll explore what it means to cease striving and make room for the God who renews us.

Join us as we begin a new season together—rested, renewed, and ready to grow in faith, hope, and love.

I’m looking forward to reconnecting and seeing the seeds of renewal grow in unimaginable ways.

P.S. Thank you for the heartwarming welcome signs posted all over the church building. What an inspiration to be remembered and welcomed back with such a heartfelt community embrace.
