Quest Church no longer exists as an organization. It was a new church start of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, epc.org, and it was the joy of a lifetime to start and to pastor this wonderful family of Christians who worshiped God every Sunday, shared the good news of God's amazing grace in Jesus Christ, and gave financial and hands-on support to many Christian missions and church plants and various other organizations that help people who are in need. The gospel was shared with thousands through handing out gospel pamphlets door-to-door and through gospel snippets published on social media. A number of people made professions of faith in Christ, two members entered into seminary training, four members went into full-time ministry or missions, and quite a few former members and attenders are either on staff or volunteering at other churches.
After 19 years of pastoring established churches, in June of 2014 I felt called by God to chase a dream and plant Quest Church. We did not begin with a sending/mother church or a core group, but we soon picked up some wonderful supporting churches and a tremendous, committed launch team who joined the quest and helped launch the church on Easter Sunday of 2016. The church got off to a good start but in mid-2018 a number of large families had to move out of the area for work, then not long after that COVID hit and we were unable to build back. The final worship service was held on Easter Sunday of 2025. At the high point, we had two women's Bible studies/life groups along with groups for men, youth, and a college/young career group as well. We gave financial and hands-on support to many worthy endeavors, more than can be listed here.
I am so grateful to the many individuals, churches, and to the Presbytery who were all an important part of this story! While the church as an organization may no longer exist, surely the Lord will continue to produce much good through the lives that were impacted in various ways.
Good things ahead! God things ahead!
