Blessing of the Backpacks is tomorrow during both services! 🎒🎉

How can you prepare?
1️⃣: Bring your backpack to church!

2️⃣: Check out the graphic below on how to fill out the backpack tag tomorrow! There is a section for the student to keep, one for the parent or guardian to keep, and a final one for someone in the church to pray over your student as the school year goes on!

We are so excited to see you on Sunday at 9:30 and 11:00am!

Come join us THIS Sunday, August 2nd for Back to School Sunday!

We will have worship services at 9:30 and 11:00am. During these services we will have Worship, Communion, Blessing of the Backpacks, and a message from Pastor Laurinda.

After the 11:00am service we will have Back to School Bash which includes community lunch & snowball fight! There is no cost for lunch.

As heavy rainfall continues to impact our communities across Central Texas, we invite you to join us in prayer.

Bishop Cynthia Fierro Harvey reminds us, "Please continue to hold all who are affected in your prayers—those who fear, those who have been displaced, first responders, relief workers, and the churches that will become places of refuge and hope."

Our Disaster Response leaders are actively communicating with local pastors, community leaders, and emergency response partners as conditions continue to develop.

In the meantime, our Disaster Response team is preparing to respond as soon as it is safe to do so. Damage assessments are beginning where possible, while some areas remain inaccessible due to high water.

Please pray for:
• Those impacted by flooding
• First responders and emergency personnel
• Pastors, churches, and neighbors caring for their communities
• Wisdom, protection, and safety for those preparing to respond

As needs are identified, we will share opportunities to serve. Until then, we ask that individuals not self-deploy to affected areas. Coordinated response helps ensure volunteers are sent where they are most needed and can serve safely alongside local partners.

South Texas Blood and Tissue Center will be in the Quad Room in an effort to help bridge the gap between the blood need and what is currently available. This Sunday, VBS Kids is briefly taking over services at Gruene UMC to show everyone the amazing week they had.

All VBS kids and volunteers are invited to wear their VBS shirts and join in as we sing the Illumination Station theme song at the 9:30 and 11:00 am worship services. Get ready to see the sanctuary full of bright shirts, big smiles, and lots of excitement!
