WEDNESDAY, 6/3: The Company We Keep

READING: 1 Corinthians 15:33; 2 Corinthians 6:14-18

"Do not be deceived. Evil company corrupts good habits." We often underestimate how profoundly others influence us. Just as yawning is contagious, so are attitudes, values, and behaviors. Biblical separation doesn't mean isolation from unbelievers; remember that Jesus ate with sinners. Instead, it does mean refusing to adopt their patterns and priorities.

There's a difference between being a witness in the world and being absorbed by the world. Dirt rubs off on clean surfaces far more easily than cleanliness transfers to filth.

TODAY'S GOSPEL SPARK: Evaluate your closest relationships honestly: Are they drawing you closer to Christ or pulling you toward compromise? Seek friendships with the faithful who spur you toward godliness. Your spiritual health depends partly on the company you keep. Choose wisely.

TUESDAY, 6/2: Guarding What Enters

READING: Psalm 101:3-4; Philippians 4:8

"I will set nothing wicked before my eyes." David understood a profound truth: what enters through our eyes travels to our minds and settles in our hearts. In our media-saturated world, we face a constant barrage of content competing for our attention and affection. The enemy doesn't always present the worst first; he conditions us gradually, shifting our tolerance until what once horrified us now seems acceptable.

Biblical separation requires intentional gatekeeping. We must actively choose what we allow into our thought life. This isn't legalism. In fact, it's wisdom.

TODAY'S GOSPEL SPARK: Ask yourself : What am I feeding my mind? Would Jesus watch, read, or listen to what I'm consuming? Protect your eyes, guard your heart, and fill your mind with whatever is true, noble, right, and pure.

MONDAY, 6/1: The Foundation of Devotion

READING: Psalm 101:1-2; Romans 5:1-9

Biblical separation begins not with what we avoid, but with whom we adore. David's psalm opens with singing praises to God's mercy and justice, which are the twin pillars of our salvation. We can sing of mercy precisely because God's justice was satisfied through Christ's sacrifice.

When we grasp that Jesus took our judgment so we wouldn't have to, devotion becomes our natural response. This isn't about religious duty or outward performance; it's about a heart transformed by grace.

TODAY'S GOSPEL SPARK: Consider this question: where does your deepest devotion lie? A biblically separated life flows from a heart utterly devoted to the One who redeemed you. Let gratitude for His mercy fuel your commitment to live differently, not to earn His love, but because you've already received it.

May 25-29, 2026 — “The Passover Lamb”

FRIDAY, 5/29: Ready to Leave

READING: Exodus 12:11; 1 Thessalonians 5:1-6

The Israelites ate the Passover meal fully dressed, sandals on, staff in hand, ready to leave at a moment's notice. The promised land awaited, and there was no time for delay.

Are you ready to leave this world right now? We don't know the day or hour when we'll be called home or when Christ will return. This life, no matter how many years we have, will soon be over. The question isn't whether you'll die, but whether you're prepared for what comes after.

Living with eternal perspective changes everything: how you spend your time, what you treasure, and how you treat people.

TODAY'S GOSPEL SPARK: Make the effort today and every day to live as though you might meet Jesus face-to-face tonight. Is there anything you need to make right? Anyone you need to share the gospel with? Don't delay what matters most.

May 25-29, 2026 — “The Passover Lamb”

THURSDAY, 5/28: All or Nothing

READING: Exodus 12:8-10; Matthew 16:24-25

The Israelites had to consume the entire lamb; nothing could be left until morning. This symbolizes that we must accept all of Jesus, not just the parts we find comfortable. Many want Jesus as Savior but reject Him as Lord. They want forgiveness but not transformation. They want heaven but not the cross.

This is not how salvation works.

Following Christ means denying yourself, taking up your cross, and surrendering completely. There are no asterisks in Scripture, no optional clauses. You cannot pick and choose which teachings to follow.

TODAY'S GOSPEL SPARK: Examine your heart honestly: Have you given Jesus everything, or are you holding back certain areas of your life? True discipleship requires total commitment, not partial acceptance.
