About the Role:
As a valued member of our professional staff, you will provide instruction aligned with our school’s mission and the guidelines set by the School Board. Your work will be integral to maintaining the strong connection between the school and the ministry of St. John’s Lutheran Church. This position requires a teacher who embodies Christian values, communicates effectively, and fosters a supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Promote and actively live out the mission, purpose, philosophy, and goals of St. John’s Lutheran School.
Collaborate with the pastor and principal to uphold the school’s role within the church’s mission and ministry.
Assess, plan, and direct student learning with a curriculum that is age-appropriate, Christ-centered, and faith-integrated.
Develop and implement classroom management and discipline strategies based on Christian principles using Gospel and Law.
Conduct student evaluations and organize parent-teacher conferences as scheduled.
Apply Matthew 18 in resolving conflicts with grace and understanding.
Complete all assigned duties including grade level teaching, staff collaboration, and co-curricular involvement.
Maintain timely completion of reports, records, and required documentation.
Participate actively in faculty devotions, meetings, and in-service training.
Engage fully in school and congregation life, including extracurricular activities and student supervision.
Ensure compliance with state-required records and reporting.
Take on additional tasks as assigned by the Principal or School Board.
Qualifications:
Hold a valid Michigan teaching certificate/license appropriate to the position.
Demonstrate a strong personal faith and model Christian values in conduct and communication.
Exhibit professionalism in appearance and interaction with students, staff, and parents.
Commit to working cooperatively with the entire school community to support student success.
