We pray for the grace daily
“not to lose God” in the midst of the seemingly urgent needs and multitasking realities of our everyday lives. Let us ask God for the grace to slow down and for the wisdom to discern what is truly urgent and what is not/
what is of God and what is not?

Wherever we are, God is! We are never alone. Even if we feel alone, Jesus has promised to be with us always. We simply need to open our hearts to God; to trust and be patient as God waits patiently for us all the time.

Louizee wondered, “was that the Hesychia prayer bell or the supper bell?”
Either way, may we intentionally choose to take some sacred pauses to be on the lookout for God who shows up in the ordinary and extraordinary events of our day.

“God’s grace does not wait on the other side of surrender. It meets us in the reaching.” (James Wermers)
As Sr. Louise Sharum, OSB would share often, “If we choose to want what God wants for us (surrender), it will not be just enough but MORE than enough!”

On the Feast of Pentecost we invoke the Holy Spirit.
Jesus breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.”
John 20:22

“The doors were locked and the disciples’ hearts were afraid. Fearful hearts are locked hearts. Locked doors and locked hearts, however, were not strong enough to prevent Jesus from lovingly breaking into their lives. Jesus breathed on his friends giving them the first fruits of the Spirit.”
(Sr. Macrina Wiederkehr, OSB)
The Holy Spirit is always available for us!

God chose “to put on skin” through Jesus because God did not want to leave us to figure things out alone; therefore, God moved into the neighborhood to make known God’s intimate love and care for each of us. Thank you, God, for your extravagant love and presence.

Today Sr. Anita and Sr. Lisa went to Subiaco Abbey to participate in the Diocesan Vocation Day for 5th Graders from the Northwest Arkansas Catholic Schools.
The Sisters, Brothers, Deacons and Priests shared their vocation stories and opened themselves to many questions from curious young minds.
Let us pray for all persons who are discerning God’s call to religious life, diaconate or priesthood.

Happy Mother’s Day to all biological, adoptive or spiritual mothers!
We believe Maya Angelou’s description of motherhood rings true:
“ A mother’s love is the closest thing we know to divine.” Maya recognized a mother’s bond as a beautiful gift that provides love, safety and belonging, irregardless of a child’s weaknesses or mistakes.
We ask God’s blessings on all mothers, living and deceased.
