In Loving Remembrance of Patriarch Dr. Granville Williams

Today we remember with honor and gratitude the life and legacy of our beloved spiritual father, Patriarch Dr. Granville Williams, born on this day and called home on April 6, 2014.

Through the will of God, he was chosen and sent to build a house of worship, raising up Jerusalem Cathedral and many other branches—Zion Temple, Pillar of Fire, Bethlehem Temple, Buelah, Scarlet Cord Cathedral, and Zion Hyde Park. Each one stands as a living testament to his faith, his labor, and his unwavering obedience to God’s call.

We are forever grateful for the sacrifices he made, the vision he carried, and the foundation he laid. Because of his obedience and love, the people of God have places to gather, to worship, and to grow. His legacy continues to shape us, bringing us from where we were to who we are today.

With love and deep appreciation, Bishop Simon and the members of Scarlet Cord Cathedral honor his memory today, thanking God for the life of a true servant and father in the faith.

Patriarch, your work lives on in us, and your memory will remain a guiding light for generations to come.

In Loving Memory of Deacon Curt Woods

It is with deep sorrow that we acknowledge the passing of our dear beloved brother, Deacon Curt Woods, a faithful servant of the Lord who went home to be with his everlasting Father on June 26, 2025
Deacon Curt was saved and baptized in the Pillar of Fire Spiritual Baptist Church by Archbishop Granville Williams, under the leadership of Leader Edward Ashby. He had a love for God and later worshipped for many years at the Scarlet Cord Cathedral, where he was ordained a Deacon by Bishop Simon Rock, with the blessing of Patriarch Dr. Granville Williams.
A devout and dedicated member of the Scarlet Cord Cathedral, Deacon Curt was known for his unwavering faith and wholehearted support of his church. He was good to all who came in contact with him—a joyful and happy person whose warmth touched many lives. He was loved by all and will be missed by all. He leaves behind a legacy of service, humility, and devotion that will not be forgotten, and an example of Christian living that all can follow.
Our heartfelt condolences go out to his beloved wife, Deaconess Susana, his children, grandson, family, church family, and friends. We pray that God would give comfort and strength to them at this time.
May God bless him, and may he rest in peace in the arms of his everlasting Father.
