Broad Run Baptist Church Teaching people to love God by teaching people to love God's Word. Albert Henderson, Lead Pastor We believe in the power of God and His word to change lives.

Communicating the Gospel of Jesus Christ and contributing to the growth of His kingdom is why Broad Run Baptist Church exists. We believe this because we know the Bible to be true. We also believe it because we see God changing lives in our midst! The Bible teaches us that Jesus Christ came as God’s gift to the world. The gift He gave was the sacrifice of Himself on the cross. This was the price o

f salvation for those who are willing to place their faith in Him. This good news is called the Gospel.

Some hurts are hard to let go of because the impacts are still sitting right in front of you. Maybe someone you trusted betrayed your confidence, a spouse broke a promise, a parent said something you still hear in your head, a friend walked away when you needed them, or someone damaged your reputation and never bothered to make it right... Forgiveness becomes especially difficult when the person responsible has never apologized or even acknowledged what they did.

Jesus does not ask us to pretend those things didn't hurt and weren't hard. Forgiveness can include an honest recognition of what was painful, while refusing to keep feeding into the resentment that allows another person’s actions to occupy our thoughts. Ephesians 4:32 points us back to the forgiveness we have received in Christ, and as we develop the mind of Christ, His grace teaches us how to extend grace even when an apology never comes.

For some, choosing forgiveness today may begin with handing God the hurt, and trusting Him with the justice. 🙏🏼

📖"Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." - Ephesians 4:32

Have you ever considered that showing up on Sunday may be one of the ways God intends for you to serve somebody else? Hebrews 10:24-25 connects gathering together with encouraging one another.

Every week on the Lord's Day, God’s people gather around the risen Christ with brothers and sisters who need encouragement just as much as they need to give it, and every Sunday together points us toward the day when the whole family of God will finally be home with Him forever. 🙌🏼

📖"And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God." - Revelation 21:3

Have you ever stopped to consider how much freedom there is in knowing you never had to earn your way to God? Scripture tells us that we are saved “by grace through faith,” and that grace keeps pointing us back to Jesus with gratitude for what He has done and a growing desire to become more like Him.🙌🏼❤️

There is a difference between fitting church into your schedule and arranging your life around who Christ has made you. The new identity that we are given in Christ reaches into every area of life and into our priorities, including the value we place on gathering with the people of God.

Christians come together because worship, Scripture, fellowship, and encouragement belong naturally in the life of someone who belongs to Jesus.😌

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" - 2 Corinthians 5:7

September is Su***de Prevention Month, and for some of you, that sentence carries a name, a face, or a part of your own story that few people know.

Maybe you have replayed the last conversation with someone you lost, wondered what you missed, or reached for your phone before remembering they will not answer. Maybe you know the other side of this story. You have gone to work, laughed with friends, answered texts, and quietly wondered whether you want to keep being here.

Jesus meets you in these places. He is not intimidated by your grief, questions, anger, or thoughts you are afraid to say out loud. Scripture shows us a God who draws near in anguish, listens to prayers that sound more like cries, and gives us people to help carry what has become too heavy to carry privately.

If this is part of your story, please tell someone. Reach out to a trusted friend, pastor, counselor, or someone who can stay with you and help you take the next step. If you are in suicidal crisis or emotional distress, call or text 988 to reach the 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline.

You do not have to struggle alone. ❤️

The Lord built rest into the rhythm of creation, and the Lord’s Day gives His people the privilege of stepping away from the ordinary demands of the week to worship, enjoy His good gifts, sit under His Word, and delight in the God who saved them.

Sunday was never meant to be a day spent watching the clock and waiting to get back to everything else. Psalm 92 calls the Sabbath a day for giving thanks and singing praise to the Lord, so it is worth asking what our attitude toward the Lord’s Day says about our relationship with the Lord Himself. When gathering with His people consistently feels like an obligation, take some time to consider how well you know your God; ask Him to give you eyes to see Him as He really is. ❤️
