Today, we join together in prayerful remembrance of the victims of that tragic day. We ask God to surround their loved ones with His peace and healing, to bless the first responders whose courage inspired a nation, and to keep alive the spirit of compassion and unity that emerged in the face of loss. May we always remember on this Patriot Day.

Nearly 50 people gathered on Wednesday evening as Fr. Doug presented on "End of Life Decisions" at our Faith, Food, and Fellowship gathering. Attendees enjoyed a delicious meal prepared by a parishioner and learned a lot through Father's informative presentation.

Plan to join us next month on Wednesday, October 7, at 6:30pm for a presentation on the Rosary!

Back-to-School Blessing—
Dear God, We ask that You bless the students in our parish, giving them inspirational teachers, studious habits, solid friendships, and Your grace in every moment of this school year. Bless the teachers and school staff, too. Fill them with Your love and care so that, as they teach and minister to our young people, Your wisdom and light may be known, encountered, and shared.

Today we welcomed Kelli Ginter to our staff as our new Parish Secretary and Communication Coordinator!! Be sure to give her a warm welcome as you see her around the Our Lady campus!

Originally from Dubois, Indiana, Kelli moved to New Albany in 2019 and is now a member of Holy Family Catholic Church—conveniently located just a short walk from her front door. She studied at Ball State University, earning a degree in advertising while working as a web designer and developer on the side. Kelli unexpectedly found her way into parish ministry in February of 2020 as Director of Communications at Holy Family. Soon after, she transitioned into the pastoral associate role before moving to Minnesota to spend a year discerning consecrated religious life. In 2023, she moved back to New Albany and began serving the local Church as the associate Director of Evangelization at Catalyst Catholic. Outside of work, she enjoys a good black coffee on the back porch, fresh flowers, and roller coasters — and thanks to her new husband, Matthew, watching every Notre Dame football game. The two were married in May 2026 and look forward to many years in the New Albany area.

Today the Church celebrates the birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Her nativity reminds us of God's loving plan of salvation and the hope that entered the world through her. May we follow Mary's example of faith and trust each day. Happy Birthday, Blessed Mother!

As we celebrate Labor Day, let us take a moment to recognize the dignity of every worker and the many ways their efforts help families, communities, and our church flourish. May we always value the work of every person, seek justice for all laborers, and give thanks for the opportunity to serve God through our daily work.

Prayer for Vocations —

Dear God,

Give us the courage and strength to answer when You call! Give us clarity and trust to hear Your soft invitations. Give us the love to respond, and the bravery to take the steps that will bring us ever closer to You. Amen.
