Happy Memorial Day šŗšø
As we rest, celebrate, and gather with family today, we pray we remember the incredible freedom afforded to us through the sacrifice of the men and women who laid down their lives in combat for our country. They paid the ultimate price with their lives.
As our nation approaches the 250th year of its founding, we are reminded that freedom is never free.
If you pray with your family today, you are able to do so because of their sacrifice.
If you choose not to, you are able to make that choice because of their sacrifice.
If you open your Bible today, you are able to do so because of their sacrifice.
If you choose not to, you are able to make that choice because of their sacrifice.
Today we honor those who gave everything so that we could live in freedom.
And with that freedom comes a question:
āChoose this day whom you will serveā¦ā Joshua 24:15
As followers of Jesus, while we are grateful for this nation and those who sacrificed for it, our ultimate allegiance belongs to one King and one Kingdom. His name is Jesus.
And God has already told us what He desires most from us:
āTo act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.ā Micah 6:8
Today, what will you choose to do with the freedom youāve been given?
We remember. We honor. We are grateful.
