Our September Tot Shabbat program provided the perfect opportunity for our TBS Tots to get to know the Torah before our most important holidays begin!
Rabbi Benjy let the kiddos get up-close and personal with the sacred scroll by letting them explore the Torah's dressings, Yad, and hand-written texts. He and TBS song leader, Marc Rossio, led our families in songs, prayer, and wrapped up our afternoon Tot Shabbat with the Havdalah Blessings.

We can't wait for our next Tot Shabbat IN THE SUKKAH later this month. Keep an eye out for more information on TBS Tot programming!

At the end of September, our Lunch Bunch group heard from Licensed Insurance Agent & TBS Member, Nicole Toneatti!
Nicole shared changes in the industry and in the relevant laws that have gone into place over the last few years — and what to expect in the near future.
We are so grateful to Nicole for sharing her expertise with us!
Lunch Bunch will take a break in September, but will be back in October with a really exciting speaker — we'll share more soon!

In the New Albany Plain Local School District, nearly 100 children in need receive two free meals a day through the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and the School Breakfast Program (SBP). The food they receive ensures they have at least two meals on school days — but what about the weekends? In early 2024, TBS volunteers formed Feed Our Kids. Once a week, bags are packed with a weekend’s worth of food per child, including three dinners, two breakfasts and two lunches, nutritious snacks, extra fruit and vegetable cups, and a portion of fresh fruit. Last year, we prepared bags for 18 kids on a weekly basis.

The new school year has begun and it’s time for Feed Our Kids (FOK) to get organized. Our group leaders have been in touch with New Albany Plain Local Schools and they look forward to our help again this year.

Earlier this month, over 60 participants came together for the first Chai614 event. We were thrilled to partner with this new organization, which aims to create a connected community where Jewish older adults can age in place with independence, connection, and dignity.

Attendees enjoyed a kosher-style lunch and a viewing of "Fiddler's Journey to the Big Screen" while making new connections with participants from all over Columbus!
