This Thursday is Thanksgiving. One day in which we like those early Pilgrims set aside time in our busy schedules to give thanks to God. Now, there is nothing wrong with that but the word of God tells us that this should be a continual, daily attitude. Thomas Merton once said, "To be grateful is to recognize the love of God in everything He has given us -- and He has given us everything. Every breath we draw is a gift of His love, every moment of existence is a grace, for it brings with it immense graces from Him."
In 1620, 102 Pilgrims had come to this continent to build a new world where they would be free to worship God. Soon fifty-six died due to starvation, disease and the cold winter. However, they did not give up. In 1621, 46 Pilgrims and 91 Indians met to give thanks for a bountiful harvest and for the preservation of their lives. Psalm 107:1 says, "Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!" Let's not forget to take time out of our Thanksgiving festivities to really Give Thanks to God and to each other.
We pray you would join me this weekend. Pastor Rob will be speaking this Sunday morning November 25 at 10:30 am at Faith Fellowship Church in Johnstown. The address is Northridge High School Auditorium, 6066 Johnstown-Utica Rd. Johnstown, Ohio 43031
Then Sunday evening (11/25/18) at 6:30pm we will be continuing our Bible Study at our home (7031 Doran Drive, New Albany). We encourage you to make every effort to attend. We will have a time of connection and conversation, a special teaching from God's Word that will open up heaven over your life, and we will end with prayer and communion. I really would love to see you this Sunday morning and evening.
