A reminder to people of the contributions of q***r/gay/bi men specifically in the Witchcraft/Pagan communities.

A very short list that were "out of the closet," "passed over" and made an impact on Gay Spiritual traditions, Neo-paganism, Occult Practices, Wicca, and Witchcraft.

• Harry Hay, founder of the Radical Faeries
• Eddie Buczynski, founder of multiple traditions including the NY Wica and Minoan Brotherhood, a tradition for men that love men
• Herman Slater, publisher and owner of The Warlock Shoppe and The Magickal Childe
• Scott Cunningham, author of many occult and pagan books
• Alex Sanders, High Priest that is responsible for the Alexandrian tradition
• Leo Martello, author and High Priest
• Eddy Gutiérrez, founder of the Unnamed Path which was designed for gay, q***r, and male-identifying individuals. Also a practitioner of multiple ATR's.
• Aleister Crowley, was an English occultist, philosopher, ceremonial magician, poet, painter, novelist and mountaineer. He founded the religion of Thelema
• Tarotstar, co-founder of the Sacred Pentagraph tradition and author of many books on witchcraft

**I by no means left anyone off this list on purpose, and did not go into the extensive list of living practitioners. You all know who you are and thank you for all you do.
**Now I need to form a list for the women!!!

Today is the feast of Carl Kellner
33° 90° 96° X°
The Spiritual Father of Ordo Templi Orientis
(1850 – 1905 e.v.)

Carl Kellner was an Austrian paper chemist and an avid student of Freema*onry, Rosicrucianism and Eastern mysticism, and traveled extensively in Europe, America and Asia Minor.

During his travels, he came into contact with three Adepts (a Sufi, Soliman ben Aifa, and two Hindu Tantrics, Bhima Sena Pratapa of Lahore and Sri Mahatma Agamya Paramahamsa), and an organization called the Hermetic Brotherhood of Light.

The Hermetic Brotherhood of Light was a mystical society which claimed descent from the late 18th century Austrian Ma*onic/Rosicrucian body known as the Fratres Lucis. The Fratres Lucis, a*o known as the Asiatic Brethren or Initiated Brethren of the Seven Cities in Asia, was derived from the earlier German Order of the Golden and Rosy Cross. The Hermetic Brotherhood of Light also appears to have had connections with the Hermetic Brotherhood of Luxor.

During the course of his studies, Kellner believed that he had discovered a “Key” which offered a clear explanation of all the complex symbolism of Freema*onry, and, Kellner believed, opened the mysteries of Nature. Kellner developed a desire to form an Academia Ma*onica which would enable all Freema*ons to become familiar with all existing Ma*onic degrees and systems.

In 1885, Kellner met the Theosophical and Rosicrucian scholar, Dr. Franz Hartmann. He and Hartmann later collaborated on the development of the “ligno-sulphite” inhalation therapy for tuberculosis, which formed the basis of treatment at Hartmann’s Salzburg sanitarium.

In 1895, Kellner began to discuss his idea for founding an Academia Ma*onica with his associate Theodor Reuss. During these discussions, Kellner decided that the Academia Ma*onica should be called the “Oriental Templar Order.” The occult inner circle of this Order would be organized parallel to the highest degrees of the Memphis and Mizraim Rites of Ma*onry, and would teach the esoteric Rosicrucian doctrines of the Hermetic Brotherhood of Light, and Kellner’s “Key” to Ma*onic symbolism. Both men and women would be admitted at all levels to this Order.

Kellner died of blood poisoning in Vienna on June 7, 1905.

The Enochian Apocalypse: Enochian Magick and the Book of Revelation

This month's Toronto Thelema workshop will explore how John Dee's system of Enochian magick corresponds to the Book of Revelation, how that alignment can be translated into ritual, and what that means for the practicing magician.
