Hi all,
Church night for the Griffons has been scheduled for tomorrow night (Wednesday). Please think about coming and supporting St. Mary's. Maybe we can win the $75 for our kids. And you'll get to see our college-aged young men play an exciting game. Come for an inning or two. All you have to do is tell the gate you're from St. Mary's. Admission is free. The game starts at 7pm. Love to see you there!

Hi all,
On Saturday evening in Rome, at 7pm, Pope Leo will be leading a rosary for world peace. It will livestream at vaticannews.va at noon (our local time). He will be praying the Joyful Mysteries and it will be held in conjunction with many different Marian shrines throughout the world. He is urging everyone to join him in praying the rosary this Saturday for peace in this broken world. Please join him at noon tomorrow, either by watching the livestream at the above internet address, or just by taking the time tomorrow at noon to join in so many Catholics throughout the world as we pray to the Lord through the intercession of Mary for the much needed peace our world longs for at this fragile time of war and oppression.

This Sunday, Catholics around the world celebrate Pentecost, marking the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles, Mary, and the early Church — 50 days after Christ’s Resurrection and 10 days after His Ascension.

Hi all, I found this episode about pilgrimage on Formed.org. It's really great because it reminds us that a pilgrimage isn't just about going on a trip to Jerusalem or Lourdes, there are places in the States we can go. Most importantly, a pilgrimage is part of the Christian spiritual life that all of us are on. Sometimes we can go to places, though, to reinforce our pilgrimages. I know I love to go and visit different churches, and I make sure I pray the stations of the cross when I'm there! Anyway, here's the link:

Pilgrimage is more than religious travel. It is a concrete act of faith that helps us step away from ordinary life, bring our bodies and souls before God, and remember that the whole Christian life is a journey toward him. In this episode of Practicing Catholic, Taylor Kemp and Dr. Scott Hefelfinger...

Hi All, Some sad news for everyone. Dolly Galus passed away this morning. She was found in her house by Bonnie Franklin. The good news is that she got her wish and never went to a nursing home, which was something she was adamant about. Anyway, I'll let everyone know about services for her that are going to be coming up. We've lost another one of our long time parishioners, as well as our resident character. May she now rest in peace with Joe and MIchelle, and be embraced by God in eternal life!

Catholic social teaching is a rich treasure of wisdom about building a just society and living lives of holiness amidst the challenges of modern society. There are several key themes of this teaching.

Option for the Poor and Vulnerable

In a society marred by deepening divisions between rich and poor, our tradition recalls the story of the Last Judgment (Mt 25:31-46) and instructs us to put the needs of the poor and vulnerable first.
