Pastor appreciation month comes to a conclusion and I need to say how deeply thankful I am for all the expressions of appreciation. I received (and I know I’m going to forget something so please offer grace) gift cards for Cracker Barrel, Amazon, Barnes & Noble; monetary gifts, a joke book, scented candle, MS State cheese, a cat lovers’ picture frame, homemade food items, very moving cards of appreciation, especially handmade cards from the children’s Sunday School class, and I am missing things. Please know how much all your kindness and expressions have meant to me. Nettleton and Shiloh, I love you all.

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Grace and peace to you!

I am writing to invite you to participate in the relief and recovery efforts following Hurricane Helene. This devastating storm has impacted multiple states and I am confident that the Mississippi-West Tennessee Conference people will want to respond with prayers, work teams, and financial support.

While it is best not to self-deploy at this time, our Global Methodist Conferences impacted by Helene need our financial support. We will be developing a disaster relief partnership with Faith Responders, a ministry partner of the Global Methodist Church. 100% of donations to Faith Responders go to helping relief and recovery efforts, and no money is kept for administrative costs.

Let me offer two ways we can support the relief and recovery effort immediately:

1. Individuals and churches can send donations directly to our conference office:

MS-WTN GMC

P.O. Box 647

Senatobia, MS 38668

We will directly send ALL donations earmarked for “Hurricane Relief” to Faith Responders.

2. Individuals and churches can send donations directly to Faith Responders via their website - thefaithresponders.org

Please continue in your prayers for those who lost their lives, homes, and businesses in the wake of this storm. I look forward to sending you information on work team opportunities in various areas in the coming days, as this will likely be a long recovery.

I am grateful for your support of this great need and am proud to be the Conference Superintendent who has the privilege of serving such faithful people. May the peace of Christ be with you.

Blessings,

Rev. Dr. Timothy Prather

Conference Superintendent
