Rebuttal to False and Misleading Social Media Post
It’s unfortunate that, in today’s world, social media is too often used to spread misinformation, especially when it’s inflammatory and untrue. Recently, Kevin Price posted a statement on his Facebook account containing serious accusations regarding the care of his mother, Dennavor. He also blocked me from seeing or responding to the post, creating an echo chamber to support his narrative while excluding the truth.
To set the record straight:
Kevin falsely claimed that I forced his mother to take the COVID-19 vaccine, leading to her contracting shingles and ultimately her death. This is not only completely false, but deeply hurtful—especially given the reality of what took place.
Here’s the truth:
During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, like many others in care facilities, Dennavor faced vaccine mandates. She came to me for advice, and I told her honestly that I did not support the vaccine and that none of my family members planned to take it. A few days later, while visiting, she told me she had gone ahead and received the vaccine. Her reason? The care facility informed her that refusing the vaccine would mean hiring a private nurse—something she could not afford—and remaining isolated in her room. She looked at me and said, “I’ve lived a long life. If the vaccine kills me, that’s okay. I can’t pay for private care or be locked away from people.”
Kevin also posted misleading photos from various years to suggest a sudden physical decline that wasn’t accurate or fair. The only accurate photo was the one depicting her shingles. When that occurred, I personally visited and cared for her daily, using Zara Thym and Geranium essential oils. Within two weeks, her shingles were gone. She thanked me many times for being there during that time, despite how difficult things could be.
The reality is, for years Kevin had distanced himself emotionally and financially from his mother. He rarely visited, and when he called, it often ended in yelling and tears—leaving me to console her and try to mend the emotional harm. My family and I were the ones there for her: for birthday parties, holidays, drives, meals, and companionship. Kevin sent money a few times, seemingly to ease his own conscience, but played no meaningful role in her care.
I did what I could out of love, not obligation. I never asked for praise or recognition. But I also never expected to be falsely accused on a public forum by someone who chose absence over involvement.
It saddens me deeply that this situation has been brought to the public eye in such a twisted and harmful way. For those who know me, I hope you see the heart behind my actions, not the distortions in someone else’s hurtful post. I have nothing to hide and no intention of continuing this drama online, but I felt the need to respond with truth and clarity.
