Today’s message from Pastor Perry was such a good heart check.

Even good things can become idols when they take God’s place in our hearts.

A few questions we were challenged to ask ourselves:

Does this lead me closer to God, or distract me from Him?

Do I rely on this more than God for my comfort, identity, or worth?

If God asked me to give this up, would I give it up without hesitation?

The things we resist surrendering often reveal what has the most control over us.

This week, let’s be honest with God and ask Him to show us anything that has taken a place in our hearts that only belongs to Him. Not because He wants to take good things away from us, but because He loves us too much to let anything else become our source.

Lord, help us lay down every idol and put You back in Your rightful place.
