The Never Alone Ministry on Thursday, May 21st covered the topic of Service Animals. Here is a summary of Pastor Judd’s message and some photos from the event.

Animals in Heaven

The strongest scriptural argument for animals in heaven rests on Romans 8:21, which speaks of the creation itself being liberated from its bo***ge to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God

Ken Ham, founder of Answers in Genesis, has frequently addressed this topic from a biblical worldview. In his discussions regarding the nature of the future kingdom, he emphasizes that God’s original design was one of harmony, not extinction.

Rev Ken Ham notes:

The Bible tells us that there will be a new heaven and a new earth. And when we look at the original creation, we see animals.

The lion, the lamb—they were all there. God’s plan is always to restore what sin has corrupted. When we look at Isaiah 11:6–9—a passage often cited by creationists to describe the future millennial kingdom—we see a picture of the wolf dwelling with the lamb and the leopard lying down with the goat. This is not a symbolic metaphor for abstract concepts, but a literal depiction of a restored animal kingdom.

Pastor Judd’s Notes :

Genesis 1:30: And to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the heavens and to everything that creeps on the earth, everything that has the breath of life, I have given every green plant for food.”

Genesis 2:7: Then the LORD formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his
nostrils, the breath of life, and the man became a living creature.

Genesis 1:26: Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.

By way of Genesis 1:30 and Genesis 2:7, we find that humanity and animals share common ground. Both were infused with the breath of life by God. Yet we find a clear distinction between man and animals in that humankind was created in the image of God, and the animal race was not. Indeed, because of this distinction, the animal race was subjected to the image bearers of God to fulfill God’s command on their purpose for
existence.

As prominent creationist commentator Bodie Hodge has noted: We know that there were animals in the Garden of Eden, and we know that there will be animals in the future age described in Isaiah. If God created the animals for His pleasure and for His glory, it is only consistent with His character to populate the eternal state with these beautiful reflections of His handiwork.
The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion, and the yearling together, and a little child will lead them. The cow will feed with the bear, their young will lie down together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox. The infant will play near the cobra’s den, and the young child will put its hand into the viper’s nest. Isaiah 11:6-8
