Business meeting was conducted at 2:30pm today:

By majority vote, new trustees are:

Scott Rogers

Ronnie Vaughn

and Wanda Martin

Historian: Ronnie Vaughn
Treasurer: Wanda Martin
Secretary: Heather Vaughn

New by laws were put in place by the majority vote. About 2/3 of those present in the room, I had never met nor attended church with in the 16 years that Nathan Black had been conducting the service.

Judge Nelson’s ruling had left a loophole for mob rule from those who have not been at church.

Some of the new bylaws were alarming but the majority won. (Ex: to allow rental of the property by other churches or organizations. That the three trustees have full authority to make decisions without the vote of the membership. The elimination of required monthly worship services (atleast once a month was the previous bylaws). The elimination of a reference to a pastor in the bylaws or the need of a position of a pastor. The word proxy was used a lot during the meeting.)

The last motion was for historic preservation to be researched and investigated by the trustees and reported back on by the trustees in January 2025.

That was the unanimous vote.

It’s our hope that the church will be preserved in its original state and be used as “Hebron Christian church”.

Once the new secretary has the new church FB page up, I will link to it so you can follow there.

I am going to date and archive this page from the time of creation until today so I can keep my pictures and memories in place of the previous years and archive this page.

Thanks so much.

In response to a lawsuit toward the previously appointed 2015 trustees (Nathan Black and Terisa Parrish)…

Circuit Judge S. Anderson Nelson ruled that “the members of Hebron Christian Church shall meet on the first Sunday of July, that is July 7, 2024, 2:30pm, at Hebron Christian Church to have a business meeting; that all who sign an acknowledgment of their membership at Hebron Christian Church will be entitled to vote during said business meeting; that during the meeting the members will elect officers and trustees, vote on the use of the church facilities by other organizations, and take up any other properly raised business of the church…..”

On July 7th, 2024 2:30pm -

I personally will be voting in favor of keeping the church open as Hebron Christian Church.

I am voting against leasing the church to other organizations or denominations.

I am suggesting that the new trustees not be related family members from one family.

I am voting that we should keep the building as is with no modern alterations or additions.

While I am confused and startled by the outcome of the court case, I acknowledge that no matter the outcome God can use all things for His glory and sometimes what we see is only the surface.

Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: yet I say unto you, that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Matthew 6:28-33
