Church, I told you there was something personal I needed to share with you… That is how Pastor John began this morning.
He wanted to stand before the people who had prayed for him, loved him, encouraged him, and walked beside him through one of the hardest seasons of his life.
Then he shared the words we have all prayed to hear… His 10-month PET scan showed no active or recurrent cancer. There is no evidence that the cancer has returned and we praise the name of Jesus!
This journey has included major surgeries, infections, hospital stays, helicopter rides, and uncertain days. But through every hospital room, procedure, tear, and sleepless night, God was there. When Pastor John had no strength left, God carried him.
The journey is not completely over. His body is still healing, and he has one more procedure scheduled for June 22. But the report is clear… THE CANCER HAS NOT RETURNED!
Pastor John is thankful for every doctor, nurse, prayer, meal, phone call, visit, encouraging word, and act of love. Above all, he is thankful to God for His grace, faithfulness, healing, and another day.
A season like this clears the fog. It reminds us that life is precious, time is short, and we cannot waste the days God gives us.
We believe this testimony is about more than what God brought Pastor John through. It is also about what God is preparing him for. God is not finished with Pastor John, and God is not finished with Beaver Creek!
We believe God has big plans for our church. We also know we are still growing, learning, and being shaped by Him. We need to become stronger, more loving, more faithful, and more united.
We are not a perfect church. We are a family learning to follow Jesus together. Celebrating victories, walking through valleys, extending grace, and trusting God to lead us because there are people who need Jesus, families who need hope, children who need truth, and lives that need restoration.
God is moving at Beaver Creek, and this is only the beginning. Come worship with us. Come grow with us. Come serve with us. Come join what God is doing!
The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy. —Psalm 126:3
