Happy Mother’s Day, beautiful Mommas!
❤️❤️❤️

It’s worth writing down by the kitchen sink: Parenting is never about how your kids turn out. It’s always and only about how you keep turning toward your kids and their Maker.

It’s okay: Motherhood is never about training your children to be good so they won’t ever fall — it’s about letting them see you fall in love every day with a good God.

And even after you’ve fallen hard — they see you keep falling hard for God.

Simply: The work of every parent is to give the best they know how now — and the work of every child is to forgive their parents the best they can now. Our work will look different, but we both have growing work to do.

There is always grace coming to meet all of us.

You need to carry out your mothering the best you can, but the Shepherd carries your babies close to His heart, and He is the one responsible for carrying your babies home.

God is ultimately the shepherd of our children, we just have to keep faithfully carrying on.

God gently leads those who have young, because He is leading us on a journey — that journeys with our kids who are on a journey of their own.

No parent gets to decide a child’s outcome — we only get to decide to always come alongside our child. We only get to offer our child with-ness and witness on their way — we don’t get to determine their way.

We can only relentlessly pray that they will choose the only One who is the only Way.

It took me years to realize:

Parenting 101:
No shock, no shame, no matter what they do.
Only share with them the sheltering arms of the Shepherd.

Parent or child, we are no different, we are all wandering sheep who are easily lured, who all need the rescue of the Shepherd from the lostness of lesser loves, into the embrace of the greatest Love, Love Himself.

When a mother stops seeing herself as the shepherd who needs to be good enough get her child safely Home, but instead sees her and her child both in need of a Good Shepherd, this is how she always stays safe in the home of God.

Happy Holy Week, dear sisters!

Happy Holy Week, dear sisters!

The Wednesday of Holy Week is the only day of Holy Week that Scripture is silent about and doesn’t tell us exactly what Jesus actually did.

Which is why the Wednesday of Holy Week is often called “Silent Wednesday.”
Knowing He’s about to face deep, unfathomable suffering, on the cusp of the very end of His earthly life, Jesus quietly retreats into the silence and solitude of beautiful intimacy with His Father.

On the Wednesday of Holy Week, Judas turned toward having 30 pieces of silver to spend — but Jesus spent the day with the beauty of God.

Silent Wednesday is for taking time to intentionally turn off the world, and hushing our souls, and lighting a candle, and sitting with His Love Letter, His very Word, and paying attention to the beauty of the heart of the only One who has ever loved us to death and back to the realest life in His Love.

Silent Wednesday is for the free beauty of taking a walk under some trees, soaking in His glory, and having a prayer walk in silence with the One who never stops whispering your name, beckoning you to Himself.

Silent Wednesday is for making time for the beauty of worship.

Silent Wednesday is about pausing to gaze on the beauty of God, the only loveliness and beauty who ever fulfills, because Love is a Person and His name is Beautiful.

The beauty we all want to buy is only found when we spend time with the beauty of God.

The most beautiful lives — live for the most meaningful.

*Let this Holy Week dismantle everything that isn’t about eternal things.*

You were meant for greatness —
and greatness is about loving a great God greatly.
About living greatly given.

The most beautiful life is a given life.

A life given to God, given to our people, given to community, given to those in need —
is what gives our lives deepest beauty.

God doesn’t call us to an impressive life —
He calls us to an important life.

A life of importance isn’t found in a life that’s impressive,
but in a life that presses into the ways and heart of Jesus.

At our meeting earlier this week, we took a different approach to Valentine’s Day. We took a closer look at the 5 Love Languages for our kids.
In the middle of our hurried lives, it’s easy to overlook what our little humans are telling us through their words and actions, with respect to how they need to be shown love. So we took the time to learn how we can look for those clues they may be giving us, and shared ideas of how we can express love in the 5 different ways. We did a little craft to gift to our families, and we were also the recipients of a surprise Valentine’s Day gift ourselves!!!

We’d love to have you join us in March, or for one of our upcoming playdates! Message us here for more info!
Have a wonderful weekend, Mommas, and a Happy Valentine’s Day! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
