Welcome to the First Light Ministry, a compassionate and supportive community under the First Baptist Church of Nederland. Our mission is to provide a beacon of hope and healing for individuals navigating the challenging journey of grief, tailored specifically for children, teenagers, and adults.
**For Kids - Growing Seasons**
First Light
offers a free peer support group designed for children from Kindergarten through Grade 6. Led by trained facilitators, this 13-week program helps young hearts navigate the complexities of grief, addressing life changes, forgiveness, and understanding. Our goal is to emphasize the constant love and presence of the Heavenly Father, even during times of crisis.
**For Teenagers - SHIFT (Hope for Grieving)**
SHIFT is our dedicated grief support program for teenagers coping with the loss of a family member, friend, or loved one. We aim to offer hope and healing, helping them manage the complexities of their emotions and find strength in their faith.
**For Adults - GriefShare**
Our GriefShare support group creates a safe and understanding environment for adults who are navigating through grief. Over the course of 13 weeks, participants learn about the common experiences and expectations associated with grief. The group provides strategies to cope with the unpredictable nature of grief, offering consistent support throughout the journey.
