We joined forces with Holy Trinity Episcopal Church-Port Neches and First Christian Church, Beaumont, Texas to check out a couple of historical sites and learn more about the intersections of racism, class and ecology. Started off at Bullhead Camp Cemetery to learn about the role of convict leasing and the Imperial Sugar Factory. We encountered some crazy rains and found refuge in a public library. We talked about redlining and listened to how God might be inviting us to go deeper in this work. Lunch at the Hong Kong Food Court was delicious.
