LET'S READ THRU THE BIBLE THIS YEAR!

Today is New Years Day, a day to start new things, right? How about we try this: Reading through the entire Bible in one year?!

Below is the schedule for January. Every day, beginning today, open your Bible (or look online), and read the two passages assigned. It probably won't take you more than five minutes to read the assigned reading. Keep doing that every day. As January comes to a close I'll post the February readings.

Let's see how it goes this month. And let's encourage one another along the way.

CHRISTMAS EVE CANDLELIGHT VESPERS AT ST PAUL LUTHERAN CHURCH, WEEPING WATER AT 6:00PM
AND AT CHRIST LUTHERAN CHURCH, NEBRASKA CITY AT 7:30PM
Here is a reminder that we scheduled to have Christmas Eve Candlelight Vespers tomorrow at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Weeping Water at 6:00pm, and at Christ Lutheran Church, Nebraska City at 7:30pm. This will be a service of lessons and carols, with the final carol being Silent Night, sung by candlelight.

And don't forget that on Christmas Day at 10:00am, we'll galther at Christ, Nebraska City for a Christmas Day service of Matins.

Worship tonight: Weeping Water 6pm, Nebraska City 7:30pm

Tomorrow is our National Day of Thanksgiving, a day set aside by our government to give thanks and praise to God for all the blessings He has bestowed upon us as a nation. How awesome it is to live in a country that makes such arrangements!

We won't have church tomorrow. Our practice as of late has been to have church the evening before the holiday (tonight!), so that we can dedicate the entire day (tomorrow) to fellowship and feasting.

So TONIGHT we prepare for that feast by gathering together around the word of God, reflecting on what this Day of Thanksgiving is all about.

Worship at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Weeping Water begins at 6:00pm. Worship at Christ Lutheran Church in Nebraska city begins at 7:30pm.

Join us for Thanksgiving Eve Vespers either in Weeping Water or Nebraska City (or both) tonight as we thank and praise God for the abundant blessings He has showered upon us.
