Summer Outreach - "Brian's Bag" for the Homeless are requesting the following items for our homeless brothers and sisters: Bar soap (large); washcloths; deodorant for men and women; tee shirts for men (med & large); underwear for men and women (sm & med for women, med & lge for men). Your outstanding generosity to our less fortunate brothers and sisters is most grateful. Thank you for all you do to help those in need. Boxes will be at all Church entrances. Returns by Sunday, June 28th.

On Friday, June 12, 2026 the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, as part of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the US bishops will consecrate the United States to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

We as a parish family will conduct a consecration ceremony during the 7:15 AM Mass on June 12th. Consecration prayer cards are available in the Church for those who cannot attend. You are most welcome to participate in the Eucharistic Adoration from 6 PM to 7PM Friday evening in the Rectory Chapel.

Consecration of the United States to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Please join us on June 12th at 7:15 AM Mass as part of the July 4th 250th anniversary celebration of the United States in consecrating our Nation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The St. Francis of Assisi Summer Book Club will be reading two books: Joe B. and Francis - the Journey and the Dream. Please register with Joan Reilly 203.442.3123 (call or text with your name). The cost of both books is $30 and must be ordered through Joan by May 20th. To obtain your own books – Joe B. is available on Amazon and Francis the journey and the dream is available at Ascension Press. A Wine/Beer and Cheese Social Book discussion will be held in late September (dates TBA).

Pentacost Sunday – May 24, 2026 We will be celebrating Pentacost and the coming of the Holy Spirit. We will be decorating the Sanctuary with Red Roses in honor of this occasion. We invite all parishioners to donate $12 for a dozen roses in remembrance of a loved one or the celebration of a special occasion. Please make checks payable to St. Francis Church or use cash. Drop off at Wooden Collection Boxes at all Church entrances (in an envelope marked “Roses”) or drop off at St. Francis Parish Office.

On April 12, 2026 St. Francis Church will host a Divine Mercy Chaplet in observance of Divine Mercy Sunday with an Exposition and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament with prayer and confessions at 3:00 PM in the Church. The intentions of Pope Leo XIV for a Day of Prayer for World Peace will be included in this service.

Congratulations to Normand and Elaine Chouinard, this year's recipients of the St. Joseph Medal of Appreciation for their outstanding volunteer work on the behalf of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Naugatuck. This year's celebration took place at the Cathedral of St. Joseph on March 15, 2026.

Lenten Mission - St. Michael Church in Beacon Falls is holding a Lenten Mission on Tuesday, March 17 and Wednesday, March 18 from 6:00 - 7:45 PM entitled "The Meaning of Lent and the Call to Holiness" Speaker will be Reverend John Kuzhikottayil, SDB. Each night will consist of Adoration, a Talk, Confessions and will conclude with Benediction. All are welcome to join us!

Vocation Night - St. Francis Church and the Knights of Columbus are sponsoring a Vocation Night at St. Francis Church Hall on Sunday, March 15th from 6:30-8:00 PM. A complimentary dinner will be provided by the Knights of Columbus for those in attendance. Sr. John Mary Sullivan will present a talk on St. Francis - Detachment from Earthly Goods with a concentration on the importance of the Eucharist during the Lenten season.
