St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, National City St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, a treasured presence in National City, was completed in 1887 and designed by Mr. The Rev. Dr. Susan, Snook Bishop of San Diego

Crocker of Chula Vista, inspired by country churches in the south of England. At St. Matthew's, our mission is to bring our best to God’s table so all might delight in Christ’s life-changing embrace across every generation and culture. Our calling is to live out God’s love, particularly for the people of National City and the South Bay San Diego region, in ways that honor each persons unique gifts, and celebrate the multigenerational, multicultural, and intercultural nature of our community.
